Jacob Barnard not sure what you’re referring to for the “hooking up with other girls in the squad thing” (can you give me a time stamp?). I’m pretty sure she was just saying it’s not cool to hook up with my close friends even if we aren’t official-which I take as a duhh statement, not that he didn’t have a history with some of the other members of the friend group. Alex saying he’s got a girl that’s “hotter than her” tho is an opinion not a fact (and a straight up asshole thing to say). Beauty is in the eye of the beholder so each person rates beauty differently. It’s possible they just give Alex a bad edit but god (from what I’ve seen) he just acts like such an asshole. So I like seeing Juliette standing up for herself, especially when Alex is blatantly trying to gas light her, like he does in the opening scene.

Jacob Barnard thanks. You’re right about the hooking up comment. And I’m just saying everyone views beauty differently. My version of ideal beauty probably varies wildly from yours. So to say he’s found someone “more beautiful” is an opinion that he holds, but it’s not factually based in anything. More than anything he said that to hurt her. Its really not relevant if he’s found someone that he thinks is more beautiful than Juliette. Good for him if he did, I guess. The point is: he said it to hurt her and make her more insecure, not because that was something that desperately needed to be said in order to salvage their relationship.

Why do you think Alex never sticks up for Juliette? If he is narcissistic then he wouldn't care who he hurt. Whether it be his girlfriend or his friends. In highschool I was best friends with a guy just like this. He dated my best friend, and cheated on her all the time. I didn't put it all together until years later. He was a master manipulator and had all of us fooled. I also learned that the whole time he was sleeping with his male friends. He still won't admit it and to my knowledge no one has even confronted him. I'm assuming he still lives like this. He did exactly what Alex does. He used his money and manipulation to get whatever he wanted. It's truly sad. I can just imagine how many of his male friends he has manipulated into sleeping with him?? Just like Alex, he just trampled through so many naive people all just to get what he wanted.
