Nah he pretty much explained it. It's what Halloween was for him when he was a kid. They wear those cheap crappy plastic masks since no one could afford anything else nor was really anything else. Some even made their own ones which was actually the point to be a child and work on your creativity. He bought things from his childhood. With other words nostalgia speaking in his mind. This girl can't grasp it since she is much younger and she is a typical ''but this mask it better bcs its realistic'' failing to realize that she is in a store with a edgy dinosaur XD Both mentally stuck in their own era of edgy crap. Besides he did that only for MTV not bcs he really gave a F to buy anything anyway ... Which he also mentioned here, Halloween is everyday for him through his entire life so he isn't hyped. If anything I would get tired of it all.

We didn’t have Spirit Halloween or online shopping in 1995. I think we had one local costume shop and it was expensive. So you had to be creative and hit up the thrift shops/craft stores for costumes. So yeah I started early putting costumes together because as a broke college student I had to wait weekly to get paid to put money towards my costumes. Didn’t realize it then but that was the best part.

I ran into him at Disneyland years ago. I know exactly who he was but I made it look like he was just a normal guy and I had no idea who he was. Little advice if you ever meet anybody famous don't lead onto the fact that you know who they are. It makes them feel more comfortable usually you'll get a all-around better experience talking to them. If I remember correctly he did not say a whole lot of anything he probably just thought who the fuck is this weirdo why is he talkin to me LOL Seriously though it seems like famous people have this Persona and active put on for fans. Or they keep their guard up but when you get to know them as a normal person it's a lot better trust me when I say this I've met a lot of famous people. I fucking love the paper thin celluloid masks too. Authenticity, at least in Halloween masks, is not a matter of technology, as much as a matter of buying what would be available in a small town.
