Richard from MTX Motors tuned a W211 2005 Mercedes Benz E55 AMG with a EuroCharged Stage 3 tune. The E55 AMG was the fastest four door sedan in Mercedes-Benz's lineup at the time, and easily outperformed its rivals, now with these upgrades it keeps up with modern supercars! The E55 AMG is powered by the M113K engine, a 5.4L V8 with a 2.1L Lysholm supercharger which makes it easily tunable!
EuroCharged Stage 3 Tune:
1. 77mm clutched supercharger pulley
2. 80mm throttle body from a 2006 SL55
3. Midlength headers
4. Heat exchanger and pump upgrades with a divorced cooling system
5. One step colder NGK sparkplugs
6. ECU/TCU remap

Robert feiler, that's the same affalterbach technician who built my engine! if you look up jay Leno amg engine assembly you can see the very same guy building an engine with jay Leno

I would love for it to produce 650hp at the motor with these mods it just doesn’t. Its about 570-580hp at the motor 17% drivetrain loss. My car with almost same mods dynoed 481 RWHP and 556 RWTQ. Granted only other mod this car has over mine is the 80mm Throttle Body. This car at best will dyno about the same as mine if not a tad higher. I have much better cooling but saying both cars don’t suffer from heat soak and we equate that out this really isn’t producing 650hp at the motor. People get very easily carried away with shooting off hp figures on these cars.

Stealth 55 it seemed a little exaggerated. Unless they’re running a ton of boost, which isn’t advisable lol. And you’re right, bigger TB is probably worth 5 HP.

Pretty much exactly what I did, though I went with a 92 mm throttle body and short headers (to keep the cats so I can pass emissions). No idea of dyno numbers but don't really care. Made the car faster but a lot smoother, actually better on gas if you drive it 'normally'. Hopefully you changed the oil on the supercharger while you had it off.

What is better bmw e60 m5 (v10) engine or mercedes W211 e55 amg ?

Georgi Georgiev too many problems with BMW V10, don’t even think about this car. Get the E55 very reliable engine

I worked at BMW and hence why i bought the E55. You can dump alot of power at it and it asks for more. If you maintain it, it wont reward you with more problems. The M5 sounds nice and is nice looking i myself have known several people with tons of problems with these cars. Even when parts are replaced with genuine bmw parts that same part stops working or breaks again in a few thousand miles. Its the engineering and quality. Not saying all mercedes benz cars are great either but the e55 is far more reliable, tons off torque because you mostly drive around town low rpms but also pulls up top. M5 you would have to rev it to high rpms and don’t get me started on the tranny it is clunky to say the least. Again not everyone has issues with there M5’s but lots do.

@@karpetcm I was looking for a e60 m5 for a year and a half saw some really low mileage ones under 30k miles. Up until couple of months ago I have changed my search to the e55 because its faster more reliable and more modifiable. The only downside is handling and suspension compared to the m5 and also the sbc might be a prob.

Master Of Dizaster the e55 is an awesome car i loved it. Yes the handling not great. The SBC if your in the US is extended to 25 years. The air suspension you can buy a air pump for 125-300 depending on brand. You can buy a shock for about 300-350. Easy install to say the least. Everything else is minor and nothing expensive. I sold mine and picked up a 13 E63. Just wanted more power and newer.

@@karpetcm nice the e55 is gonna be my second car so I dont care if it's a little dated. How much faster is the 13 e63? Yeah the e55 is a great car so much to modify.

Why not do a bigger 190mm crank pulley and longtube headers and a tune? With that I was able to get 650+ hp. Also one step colder ngk plugs and upgraded bosch 010 intercooler and upgraded radiator and cold air intake. Still stock SC pulley. Seems the safer route to go. Don't you think?

Sunny Benz we did a 77mm blower pulley instead, did the Pierburg CWA pump and upgraded EC heat exchanger , the customer preferred the look of cold air intakes over the stock units and we’ve since gone with SuperSprint long tube headers since this car is RHD our choices were limited. The customer wanted to keep up with supercars and Teslas and we’ve achieved that, he wasn’t interested in dyno figures. They are no race tracks in HK just a vast system of highways and byways.

Hey Sunny, my car has 180mm crank, longtubes, 82mm throttle, stock sc pulley. My crank pulley developped a wobble so should I swap it with a 190mm? Did you need bigger injectors? Which tune you got? Thanks

rock you would need bigger injectors with a 190 for sure. A tuner can also and will also have a wider parameter to tune due to having more fueling.

Could you put a bigger supercharger on the e55, or do a big job and switch up the assembly for twins?

Jonfrederick Lilley yes Weistec has a 2.9 Whipple kit for them and yes a BiTurbo system has been done as well but you have to think is it worth it

Hi Richie, Im looking to take off my throttle body on my E55 kompressor to give it a clean as it’s very dirty can you please help me with the torque setting for the 4 bolt that’s hold the throttle body in place not sure what torque setting they need also Would I need a new gasket or can I use the existing one ? Thanks

Torque setting for those I believe are 10Nm and yes I would get a new gasket for peace of mind just in case the old one gets compromised when removed. Be absolutely sure nothing falls into the opening once it’s off, use tape or stuff a big rag in there.

Thanks so much for your help and Super fast reply I want to fit some mid length headers the kleemann/ eurocharged style headers with 200cell cats and x pipe I believe you said in one of your replies to sunnybenz that you now have fitting long tube headers to the e55 did they make a big difference over the mid length headers ?

They absolutely did at least in this case where the customer already has the big throttle body and HE upgrades, in this video it has the mid lengths you speak of but later on we upgraded to SuperSprint RHD long tubes and made a huge difference in mid and topend and lost nothing down below. The customer is actually scared to floor it as it is his daily driver. Mid length headers are great if you’re still running the stock throttle body IMO!
