I love this video. im currently 16 years old, im a girl and I come from a well sized town in florida. I go to a muay thai gym and you could say I live there. :) Im not saying Im the toughest person or roughest person around but ever since I was 10 Ive dreamed of fighting. I started doing martial arts at that time to escape a reality that was rough for me, I lost my mom when I was 10 and everything seemed like it was falling apart. I joined a taekwondo gym and learned so much from it, I was good at it too. I did that for about 3 years, got my black belt and then had to go because more family complications started to happen. I stopped doing what I loved completely and I was more understood than I was when I walked in. Because I was a younger teen, and a hard ass, I started doing a lot of things that I shouldn't have done, I ruined my innocence in myself, my emotions, my everything. I was depressed and didnt understand the world because I thought it didnt understand me. I started to gain so much weight and I wasent feeling good, I wasn't feeling Izzy, myself. One day I woke up and said to myself that Im going to change who I am so that I can love myself. So I did... started getting better grades, found a faith, and went to a gym to work out, oh even found myself a boyfriend. But everything wasent whole... and then one day I see a muay thai boxing place opened up near me and that was when I started to beg my dad to let me try it out. He kept saying ok, but never went full with it, he just thought I had passed my "badass" phase. But no, he was wrong, I ended up taking myself there and introduced myself and told them staright up, I want to fight. Funny enough when I walked in, they were doing a lvl 1 testing so I got to see the worst of it, but no matter all of the blood and kicks to the legs that I saw, I knew I was in a new home, a place where I can work hard and be free. I dont mean to make this a life story so I'll get to my point. I spoke to my instructor he asked me why I wanted to join, I said because I want to fight. He laughed and said, "Lose 30 lbs and you can." I lost that... He pushes me harder and harder and I work as hard as I can, in hope that one day I will be able to fight. He throws me in the ring and I throw till they cant throw anymore. He even made me fight a boxer (we just boxed) who did it for 7 years and I got her down. I still have never had a unofficial fight, and I really want to. I dont understand why I cant fight yet, probably cuz Im taller and more muscular than most girls that are 16, and I wont question why. But when the time is right I know my instructor will let me.... Anyways thanks for the video, it gave me a spark for today's training.

Hey, Sweetie, you're a BADASS and don't let anyone tell you different. I started practicing martial arts at 13 (sparring adult men!) and competing at 16. I competed for 14 years, took a break and am now competing again at age 59! This is my 46th year of practice and I am in the best shape of my life! For years I was the only woman in a man's game. To be seeing so many tough young women like you rising up now is beyond awesome. If your gym won't let you fight, find another. It took me 3 tries before I found a coach that believed in me now (this Little Old Lady) that can still kick ass! From Karate to Taekwondo to Muay Thai!!!

I definitely want to be a muay thai fighter but I wouldn't figth against another person, but against that bag they use or some other thing that will exist in the future, cuz I feel it's hurtful for people to fight this way

Then you will never be a Muay Thai fighter. How can you be a Muay Thai fighter if you NEVER fight? I fight amateur Muay Thai for Diesel Gym in London and do not consider myself a Muay Thai fighter. Respect the art. Probably just want to post pictures of yourself on IG.

In our Gym we only fight on saturday. Every other day we just do light sparring. Just ask the Trainer how they train.

You seem to be a very nice person. I would like you to open a business instead of getting hurt and hurting other people.

Better to learn to harness one's unrest, channeling it in the ring, than to allow it to fester unhinged.
