Kru Praeng is the acknowledged head teacher in Muay Chaiya, after our truely great teacher,Kru Tong died of lung cancer(he loved to smoke a pipe, but inhaled the smoke) over ten years ago.He was pupil of Kuru Ketre who sent him to study further with Kuru Kimseng(midland muay, not Chaiya),but made much insights of his own; he was a genius,as I had studied many arts west and east before I met him.He became my friend as well as teacher and loved to come to my house nearly every day after he retired from civil-servant,talking mostly not about martial arts,-so my knowledge was theoretical as I wanted to questioned him about other arts all of which he could solve.....with my love for him,I write this.

The teacher in this segment is really impressive to me. he seems to have the depth of heart, and the to not leave the spiritual/mind part of his study and teaching. And, at the same time, being open minded and (extremely) skilled to be a great fighter. Seems this is something that's dying as big egos are flooding the martial arts with The MTV g-rap-attitudes. Really happy I found this clip. Thank you so much!

This is my favorite martial arts clip on KZbin so far. It's great to see some traditional combined with awesome skill. Far more awe-inspiring than the usual beat-em-up stuff. That's my opinion anyway...Peace :)

The grapplings &strikings are nicely blended to be a self defense art for realfights and it's also be a sport if we set up proper rule. Current in thailand a new stadium is setting a pro mma for thais and muaychaiya could be participated there. NIce starting, good luck.

People always say all martial arts are good, that none is above others, but I clearly see this one as superior to others

I trained in Thailand and in Muay Chaiya too (although I am a beginner in this art). My teacher studied with Kru Tong too, and with several other traditional teachers. But why do all these teachers keep it low and quiet ? Why don't they show off and boast ? Why don't they claim to be this and that ? And why nobody mentions Khru Ketr and his students who are still alive and active ?

The urgent matter in my opinion is conveying this muaychaiya to current thai boxers which they need to use this art in their future professional MMA. For the sake of their national art and themself.
@TeeSok16 жыл бұрын
First hand experience training in Thailand? Yes. With Khru Praeng? His instructor in Thailand has only brought ads and claims of superiority to serious discussions, as you could read on the forum, and had been answered by foreign and Thai marial artists. All the best to you too.

@iwiMaori exactly wing chun has the fasttest attack i would say muay chaiya has the best and fastest stand up defence if you could combine the ridiculous speed of there blocks with say wing chuns chain punch that would be off the wall

@hellopoko chain punching is the poor mans wing chun there much more to it than that rather the cycling of attacks is a concept not a move. i jkd it is both a move and a concept. in terms of speed +range jkd would win. but in terms of clinch range figthing jkd ppl whould have to brush up on some sensativity drills.

ppl need brush up on their traditional MA for one no tradtional fighting method has defensive moves its is a passive mode u put ur self in. that why McDojos teach karate block defensively not offensively which is y they dont work.

A 3-2 win in overtime is far from humiliation, especially considering the player who won the game for you has to make his living in America for the Pittsburgh penguins. As to your other comments, while some of our methods may be controversial, they are not to create fame. we still stand as the most powerful country in the world and therefore, we can do whatever we like. also, try learning how to spell and putting together a response that does not make you look like a sixth grader, thanks.

@MehdiGlz Boran/Chiaya, TRUE Ninjutsu, and so on. Also ninjutsu is often propogated and the schools aren't even true ninjutsu but simply karate and stuff. Though karate can be very good, it's trash nowadays now. karate is supposed to be devastating and explosive. But yeah, some say arts arent above others, so your saying if I taught an art where you fight with your pinky, it would be equal to this? Though it's possible for a high leveled martial artist of a lower art to beat another person.

Ubekaa, as I said I please ask you to log on defend . net and search for the thread called "mai muay thai chaiya DVD by Khru Praeng " in the thaiboxing forum. KZbin is not the best place to discuss this and you can post a reply on the thread on defend . net if you wish to have a serious discussion about this.

@mYgo24 the problem is context traditional martial arts is useless competitively one the rules and equipment make traditional training methods useless look out how different traditional British fisticuffs is from modern boxing neither will work in each others turf and if it did it would not be as effect tive. so even if chaiya were to go to the mma world and were to work his sports counter part would still be more effective.

@dream2kareem wing chun stomp kicks falesafe is to step down across the kneed and fuk the joint infact all martial arts the have some long history of striking. the concept of brutal is subjective. it is different from effective because th term effective is context. adjectives should be thrown around losely.

The Americans should keep their elbows well tucked-in,for muay chaiya. We were Siam and not Thai, which means South in Chinese, coined by a Chinese who took over the country, betraying his royal benefactors who paid for his law school in Paris. He was a communist and in the end spent the rest of his life in Peking, chased out by the Siamese people who wanted their king back. Now the Chinese have taken over the country from the inside, while the Siamese were guarding the boarder.I am a quarter Chinese,so feel free to speak my mind.We were more endangered by the white colonialists than 2wars with Myanmar.Three of my great grand fathers(Siamese) were front-line military governors, who had to deal with them.Incidentally,British east-India co.belonged and took orders from British Jews,as are Saudi are Ottoman Jews installed by GB Jewish lord Balfour over Mecca and oil fields, only after WW1,in preference to the real Arab Muslims:the Hashimites who now only rule over Jordan. Muay chaiya and Pancha-srilar are 5000 yrs old Mon martial art,a civilization that stretched from Indo-China thro.Malay,Indra-onesia,Bali to Philipines,-before the conversion to Thera-buddhism(not what Buddha taught),Islam and Spanish catholic in Philipines.Mon predates Chinese civilization, due to the abundant Tin deposit in this region to make Bronze mixed with copper long before steel was discovered(pure iron breaks easily). The amphidextrous martial art owes to the double sword and lack of restrictive clothing in hot climate.

Double check these guys, you can read a topic called '"Mai" Muay Thai Chaiya DVD by Kru Preang' if you check on the thaiboxng forum of defend. net You will read what is going on with Muay Chaiya. This is a commercial thing, these guys are after money and fame. there are other valid Muay Chaiya teachers in Thailand who can actually fight and teach and don't want to be a prima donna like these guys. Check the forum if you don't believe my words, I can't post the link here.

Ancient Mon/later Kmere worshipped the Planet of which everything in Earth's orbit are parts of including human race and is our closest link to the universe,-something that today's'Thais' ignore, prefer to build shrines to Brahma/Indra,the Universe which cares not about this 300,000 yrs old transient self-destructive,disrespectful to Earth species, soon to become extinct due to the climate change cycle, coming out of this mini-ice age to an atmosphere of 70*C,when most of the ocean will be in the air.The modern humans who do not love the Pagan god anymore and Earth knows it.....Phanu-el Asva.
