I found out about this combo a while ago. It's one of my fun things to do in my Hapatra infect Commander deck. Zulaport Cutthroat is another cheap addition for extra pinging.

At 27:00 you could sack geist, counter on young wolf, draw a card and go to 1. Hope to draw a 1 drop, then neoform the young wolf for a blood artist and use the hopefull 1 drop to start the combo. Obviously it wouldn't have worked here cause he ended up drawing a land and kitchen finks, but there could have been a hope?

Considering you're tied to Golgari (no blue/white) and you can only run 1-ofs, it actually isn't as spicy. So spicy as an idea? Yes. But very spicy as a practical deck? It isn't that strong unless you load your deck up with all the tutors you can find, to be able to get out three specific creatures (Yawg, Artist, Undying) asap.

I was replying to the comment which wanted to pull off THIS specific combo, with Yawgmoth and an Undying creature (which would need a third lifegain/lifeloss creature to actually take advantage of said loop). And it isn't that spicy to try and do that combo (the "this" in their comment), on a reliable basis, unless you take out all the combo pieces in a normal Hapatra deck and replace them with tutors. Which ruins the feel and playstyle of the way more fun (and spicier) normal Hapatra deck (that you are talking about) in the first place. This combo is okay but it isn't something you'd want to base a whole EDH deck around specifically. As you say, it's hard not to go infinite anyway, so trying to do it in one specific way (the way this video does) is actually a lot LESS spicy than the current Hapatra decks already are.

So, dumb question, but doesn't Yixilid Jailer turn off a portion of your own deck? I would think taking away creature's abilities in graves would turn off Voice of Resurgence and Undying/Persist abilities in the grave, since those all trigger when the creature dies.

Part of what makes Hogaak so good is there isn't a window to exile if after it is middle. Once Satyr Wayfinder's trigger resolves we don't get priority again until our opponent does something, which in this case was casting Hogaak from the graveyard, so by the time we get a chance to use Remorseful Cleric Hogaak is already out of the graveyard and on the stack.

It is an out because you exile a green card instead of paying its mana cost. Also you can just float your mana in response to it being put on the stack

The biggest problem was they could put the Arcbound Ravager counts on whatever Inkmoth we didn't block. There might have been a time earlier in the game we could have gotten it down, but after there were multiple Inkmoths (that were potentially lethal) it was too late for the Spider to save the day, even though it is good against small fliers.
