Commeon stay honest. Send this video to Rick and we will see what he has to say. Daniel know's things about horses but not enough in my opinion or the pony would not bite- just an example. We all are learning our whole life. The horse is extremely calm, that makes people look good, too
@kendall9339Ай бұрын
@@horse-lover68 your comment is contradicting. Your quote “we are all still learning” of course we are. Horse ownership and riding is a learning process. Are some people more advanced in their knowledge and experience of course, but we’re here to lift each other up not bring them down. I operate my farm and horses completely different than Rick that’s not to say either one is right or wrong just different! Heels down and ride on 🐴🐎🧲
@horse-lover68Ай бұрын
@@kendall9339 I don't want to bring anybody down but as you see Jake's heel's are NOT down bc the stirup is to long. For me Rick Gore is the best horseman- he can explain why horses react the way they do so that everybody can understand them. THAN you can jump on them and ride. But do with your horses what you want. I will only call out what is wrong. Other people will watch this and think this is right and it is not. Didn't you see the horses reaction when she saw the cinch- from where does this come from in your opinion?? I am training horses since almost 45 year's now People are jumping on horses untill the horse let's unpredictable and I am the expert they are calling then. It is better to tell those things BEFORE this wonderful calm horse changes. If somebody does not listen- it is their ego most of the time. I know the truth is hard but I don't bring people down, I am just telling fact's.

Kourtney the farrier that Jami and Bri knows, has a lot of horses, she does rescues all the time! She buys horses from auctions where they're sometimes in really bad shape, and instead of watching them be put down, she brings them back to her property, and nurses them back to health, and she trains them, and then she has to sell them to a good people, with great places to live, so that she can take in more horses and help them! I know nothing about the horse that Bri got from her, if she paid for him, or if she gifted her the horse, but Jake can always get in contact with her, when he gets his property, and find out where she is with horses that she need to move on! 💞

Dan, you guys did excellent congratulations! The only thing that I might suggest if I could, is to pull that saddle pad higher up on her withers. It’s laying too far back on her butt. When I had my horse fit for a saddle and a saddle pad she had a short back, and the vet told me that if the saddle pad which I had, was laying too far back on her back, it was going to make her sore. Just a simple suggestion …. to pull that up further and make sure there’s like a tent over the wither so you can see air coming inunderneath the saddle pad. That’s when you know your pads properly off the butt and up off the withers like a tent. I hope that makes sense lol, your special friend from Nebraska Neat, neat video…. I can’t wait for more.♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️🐎 see where the pad is on the horse with the green pad. Look how it’s positioned.😂

Hi Jake, I was petrified of horses and when my sister moved out her horse remained in the family and my Mum and I would look after him. He was a very strong horse and the king of the paddock, and it took me 2 years to get past a trot because I was so scared, but our lovely horse was patient with me and even tho he could feel my fear he never took advantage of that. I ended up riding bareback and only a halter in the end! We would gallop along the beach and it was exhilarating. I could fall asleep on my horse and he would take us home. I totally trusted him and he never let me down except a few times when he ditched me with a little pig jump 🤣 in other words Jake you got this!!

I'm excited for Jake!! It's exciting that his first ride on the horse was Successful!!!! I have always wanted a horse since I was a little girl and I have not ever had a chance to get one, due to my living arrangements. I have only been on a couple horses in my whole life! So, I was a little scared of the horse on each ride. But...... My dream came true! Even though it was my male cousin, him and I rented horses on the Oregon Coast and had a Wonderful time riding them on the shores of the Pacific Ocean!! I got full trust in my horse and on our way back in, right before getting off the horses, my horse stepped on something (we never figured out what it was) and his backend went up in the air and he threw me off!! I was black and Blue for quite some time!! I haven't been on a horse since, but only because of not having the opportunity to do it!! I know if I ever do ride again, I will remember my last few minutes on the last horse I rode!!! But..Falling off at the end of that Wonderful time riding a horse on the ocean beach, I would go do it again immediately !!!! Great Video Daniel !!!!!!! 🤗❤️👍🙋🏻♀️

Great job!!! One thing I can recommend is when you cinch the girth, is go “break tightening into 3-4 times” because she seems “girthy”. If you tighten too fast she will react “like she did with reaching to bite” but if you take it slightly slow it could help that. I had a horse who was similar and was able to get through it with time. You can slowly break it down to a couple tightening pulls but going from nothing to tight is very similar to, like I have learned is my many years of riding, putting a belt on yourself then pulling as tight as possible in one go. I’m very impressed by your mare and how much she has retained in the 7 years of not being ridden! Y’all got a winner there!! Congrats!!!
