There is a product named Shoe Goo that is excellent for repairing holes in any rubber type shoe. Also for gluing soles back onto shoe. Abailable in black and clear. Affordable too. Buy several tubes. This should extend life of shoes and boots.

The heater in my car broke, after about 2 hours in -20 C in a car without a heater, the feet get a little cold with these boots. Best winter boots I ever had. Easy on/off is a big plus on the farm.

No, depending on which side of the ankle, it could be the ends of the tibia or fibia which are respectively the in inside and outside portions of the ankle. There are growth plates in every joint on the body.
