I thinned my synko yellow taping mud down to a pourable consistency and tubed it on w/applicator and flushed with a 3. Coming back to it the next day there were hairline cracks in the very center of some of the corners. Keep in mind I'm new to semi auto tools. I'm guessing the mud was too thin.. it honestly didn't look too thinned. Just a pourable consistency. So I quick sanded and second coating the corners with a 3½ with an all purpose seems to make the cracks disappear. Am I setting myself up for a hard time? I'll check to see if you have any videos for tube and flusher use.

Sorry for the late reply. I wouldn't worry about hairline cracks after passing with a flusher. Those are just at the surface and will sand out. Flushers typically apply a little more mud than angle heads and the apex tends to hairline crack a little bit. Especially if there's a lot of heat and the angles dry quickly resulting in shrinking in the corner. But those hairline cracks are just at the surface and will sand out. It's not the tape that's cracked. Hope this helped.

@@drywallnation thank you I wasn't sure. The corners sanded out very well after 2 passes. I was in my mind worried that the crack might reappear in which case would be bad.. the flusher kit I bought was a cheaper one so I'm sure it leaves more material behind than more expensive flushers. Thanks for the reply.

How many coats do you put on it?

For me 80 oz of water to a full box of light blue mud is the perfect consistency for my final skim coat with the angle box. For measuring I litterally cut the top off a 16 oz monster energy can and fill it with water 5 times 😆. Some would say that's too thin but I barely have to push and I'm not burnt out afterwards, and no I don't have mud everywhere since I can practically run these things with my eyes closed at this point in my career lol.
