Peter Samuels - Coffee

After using MUD/WTR on and off for about 3 months I discovered my favorite ways to use it as well as how to improve the drinking experience. Here's my general opinion on the product.

We tried mud water and just drank it here and there until both my husband and I noticed that we were actually craving it instead of the coffee so we went ahead and bought the 90 serving package. We have way less digestive problems.

@terrizierke8528 me too! 5 mins before watching this! It took me awhile to pull the trigger but I've finally done it! I feel better healthwise getting myself off of sheep food but coffee, especially lattes, were causing inflammation & autoimmune flare ups. I kicked coffee cold turkey but I wake up at 4am so I kinda need something..

Dear AIC: This was a great and honest review. I really appreciated it. I've been doing Intermittent Fasting (IF) for about a year now. I lost 40 pounds but I would still like to lose another 20 to weigh what I weighed before kids (BK). That being said I started drinking A LOT of coffee because of IF. I started having a lot of stomach issues (so much coffee on an empty stomach). I started to mix my teas back into the mix. This helped with so many issues...a hot drink alternative. Then I started seeing so many benefits to drinking tea. I started drinking tea again. Now don't get me wrong, I love a great cup of brew same as the next guy, but I was getting more out of my tea (emotionally, physically, mentally, and spirituality). I was also talking tumeric and so many (COSTLY) vitamins on the side. I found this MUD/WTR a few weeks ago. I had these enormous headaches for a few days, but I "muddles" through them to the other side. That and I stopped taking so many vitamins! Well, I must say I haven't felt this great since BK. I am even walking with a bounce in my step. I'm sleeping better. I'm remembering my dreams both in and out of sleep! I'm in a better mood. I'm thinking clearly. The fog has lifted! I'm even learning my Spanish with ease!! The benefits of this"hot" and even cold, etc. beverage is really more than something you just drink. I'm in to living and feeling good (and serving God and others whilst I do it). Isn't that THE WHY of why we eat and drink in the first place? That's WHAT I have finally discovered. And it only took me 50+ years. I won't stop having an occasional coffee, but I won't stop drinking my teas or MUD/WTR either. Let's just say water and libations are ALL important😜. But on this side of 55+ I am saying how you feel is the most important thing. To me this far outweighs the cost. I digress eat and drink to your health and make sure you "enjoy" it along the way. Kind Regards, MAR P.S. Have you ever tried Postum? This is actually a great coffee alternative! MUD/WTR truly is in a class all by itself (and it should be). I'll be watching you 🤗 and I have forwarded your video to others. CHEERS! To our health! 🥂

I recently tried Ryze on the recommendation of someone I met. My husband and I did not want to replace coffee but we did mix the powder into our morning cup. I really like the way it tastes. I think I did notice some digestive benefits from drinking the mushroom based coffee. We blew through our first bag pretty quickly and now I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of my next bag.

Thanks for the review! I’m figuring out this stuff and found that I like it mixed with unsweetened almond milk & maple syrup. I heat the milk & syrup in my milk frother and pour that over the mudwater mix. It’s creamier & not as gritty as when I mix with just water. Will definitely try it with honey per your recommendation. Also happy for the tip about adding to smoothies. Might add it to my oatmeal to see how it works.
@petersamuels-coffee6735
@petersamuels-coffee6735 2 жыл бұрын
That sounds great! I bet it's less gritty because the texture of the milk is thicker, so it's less likely to settle to the bottom. Mainly I use water for ease of use and cost effectiveness. But honestly the idea of using almond milk sounds pretty great! I'll have to give it a shot. I REALLY like it in smoothies! I'd definitely recommend using it in any smoothie that you put coco powder in. It's very complimentary. Thanks so much for the comment!

I have tried too many coffee ‘subs’ over the years that I’d like I think if they hadn’t said anything about coffee. So thankfully I didn’t consider their coffee talk. Yeah, when you know what to expect it’s definitely easier to enjoy, but it took making it a few times to figure out how I like it. I think they definitely over emphasized this being a coffee replacement and it set certain expectations as far as how it would taste.

I am a coffee addict- and quite happy with my addiction with no intent to change. I did want the health benefits of the mushrooms though. My first cup of coffee in the morning is mud/wtr mixed in with my coffee. (Don't tell the company- I think this might be considered blasphemy). Anyway, since I don't normally add any sweetener or cream- this provides some variety and flavor that I find enjoyable. For cost reasons I only do this with the first cup.

Ok, been using this 8 months, I no longer drink coffee. MUDWTR = 14mg caffeine + mushroom power, avg cup of coffee 95mg caffeine. If you drink this like coffee through the day, you're going to go through the 90 serving (its not 90 day) bag in around 1 month. 3 cups a day is 30 days worth of servings. I used a lot more up front when I was just coming away from coffee 3-4+ cups a day because it was still caffeinated and mud wtr being so much less caffeine I had cravings but stuck to MUD not Coffee for them although my fucking god is MUD expensive I've spent $800 so far over the past 7-8 months. The first 90 serving bag was gone in 3 and 1/2 weeks because of these cravings.The 30 serving starter tin lasted 1.5 weeks at 3 cups a day. Their creamer/sweetener is a joke..would not recommend. No flavor and there are better MCTs in your local grocery stores for less money. Then...after about a month, things chilled out and I don't need mud but 1-2 cups a day. A 90 serving bag lasts almost 1.5 months now. Caffeine did so much to me that I never realized. I am more calm than I have been in years. Just getting away from caffeine will help with brain fog and clear headed thinking/focus. I still drink 2-3 cups a day of mud at times but I get the satisfaction I enjoyed from the hot beverage morning ritual but not the rush of anxious energy/overstimulation I got before. I still don't want to pay $1200 a year for this shit though fml.

Oh wow! So you have LOTS of experience with this product! I’m glad you’ve had such great results from it (even though the upfront cost is so high). Scaling down the amount so it lasts longer worked for me (about 8 oz of mud wtr and 14g per serving) has helped justify the cost. I still mix it in with my typical coffee routine to change it up, but I definitely have enjoyed this product quite a bit! If someone was looking for a coffee alternative, I’d definitely recommend it.

@@petersamuels-coffee6735 I'm not sure after trying this that I wouldn't have preferred to try out kachava or others like it before going this far with Mud. The biggest benefit I can perceive from Mud is getting away from caffeine. Outside that there are other options that will give similar or different health benefits without such a high cost. TL/DR, if anyone is thinking of trying mud they should explore other options at the same time to see what might work better for them.

@@DreamwalkerTenesha the nice thing is that if you ration it more it’ll last you longer, so it’s hard to say that high quality coffee is more or less expensive than MUD/WTR per cup.
@roguetune03
@roguetune03 2 жыл бұрын
@@petersamuels-coffee6735 I think I disagree with the rationing helping to justify the cost. You said you use mud in your coffee so you're paying for coffee + mud but sounds like weighted towards buying coffee regularly. If you don't supplement mud with another drink powder or coffee it's expensive AF. Think about it this way, in 2 years you'll have spent enough on mud you could take a nice vacation. High quality coffee is a pleasure drink not a daily drink for most and not really the same thing as a nutropic mushroom drink powder marketed at helping you get rid of coffee for daily use and priced like a health supplement. Hard to say your point about rationing has much merit at roughly $1200 a year in cost vs even buying genuine Kona or Jamaica Blue Mountain for the same length of time. I spent $109 for a 2lb bag of whole bean Kona from a private reserve label that I ended up drinking daily that lasted twice as long if not more thab the same amount spent on mud for just 1 month worth. And that was full on caffeine so the same 2-3+ cups a day. No matter who paid for this video review it's still barely worth $100 a bag for just 30 days of daily use. without cutting it with coffee or other beverages it goes fast and leaves little to appreciate..a lot of people are just reviewing themselves breaking caffeine addiction...not how good mud is.

I steep a large volume and refrigerate some…then i do my cacao, spices and small amount of instant coffee premix i make and add heated steeped mushroom mix … bye bye grit. Dried mushrooms still aren’t cheap…but it makes for a more affordable option …just doesn’t have the quick as instant coffee benefit

I would say I felt more focus, but I can’t say for sure that I saw a dramatic change in energy levels between my coffee routine and drinking MUD/WTR. I don’t use a lot of sugar in my coffee and I grind fresh each morning, so it’s not as bad of a morning habit. But I’d definitely say it’s worth giving a try! Thanks for the comment!

@@petersamuels-coffee6735 definitely man! Thanks for the info. I’ll try out when I feel like forking up the $30 lol. But many others said the same thing. Didn’t notice much with energy but helped their focus. I think people are just so adapted to caffeine that everything else won’t compare to it.

That's awesome! I hope you remembered to keep stirring. That was my first issue with drinking it. It all settled to the bottom and there was a huge amount of the MUD/WTR that I was trying to drink was unpalatable. Feel free to let me know if you have any other preferences or ways you like to drink it. I actually made another video recently about making hot cocoa with MUD/WTR as well.

I think this stuff tastes just awful by itself, but add a little oat milk and some stevia or honey, and there's just something about it. You can tell it's good for you. I'm used to drinking GOOD coffee. Starbucks disgusts me. I make my coffee in an Aeropress. Used to do just pour over, but i like the smoothness of the Aeropress. I generally don't like sweet, but i add some to MudWater due to the cacao. Actually, I'll add the MudWater to my coffee. It's great.

Thanks for your tips and tricks! Wondering if you've thought of creating your own mud-water to make it more cost effective. Especially since a 30-day pack is 180g (so 6g/serving), your suggestion of 20g/cup would only last 9 days... Which means that instead of $1/cup, it'd be almost $3.50 a cup? Anyhow, here's the recipe I came up with where the cost comes out to $0.47 per cup, and buying ingredients in bulk can make the cost as low as $0.25 per cup. Wondering if you'd consider trying out the recipe and letting me know what you think! kzbin.info/www/bejne/qpCQnpVmZ7Wlabs

That's an interesting idea! I suppose if you bought in bulk it could be a lot cheaper to combine your own ingredients, but I feel like it would take a lot of money up front, as well as some trial and error to get your ratios right. Interesting point! Perhaps I misspoke and use 14g, not 20. Because I remember it lasting longer than that when I did the math. Thanks so much for the comment!

A serving of 1 tablespoon = 6 grams, so the 180 grams = 30 servings. I found it to be exactly correct, have 1 a day lasted a month. In fact I have had to release my orders a week early so the shipment arrives precisely at the 30-day mark so I don’t run out. So that comes to $1.33 per serving for the 30-day size; I upped to the 90-day size for $1.11 per serving (includes shipping.

@@LaurelKashinnthanks for sharing this! So, it did last 1 month if you only drink 1 cup per day? That's great! I'm only going to drink 1 cup per day when I wake. 😊
