Powerful song with a deeper meaning in the deep south when those men grew up they watched and heard the men in their communities referred to as BOYS and their was nothing they could do because of the blinding oppression of people of African descent in America with the jim crow laws in the south, those early blues men set themselves free with their music and used it to tell the world I'm MAN I spell M-A-N NO B-O-Y and made the WORLD tap their feet and recognize them

Raw as fuck! It's funny because, in my opinion, southern rap feels like this. Think about lil boosie, trick daddy, outcast etc. Nothing against the other counts but, to me, the south coast (I love them all) speaks a different kind of truth.

I had the honor of seeing Muddy Waters (aka McKinley Morganfield) several times- in 67/68, and then again in 72/73. Willie Dixon on the bass. Blues as honest as it gets. Well, I did see Son House in 1969, and that, brothers and sisters, is serious roots music.
