Not a glitch. it is an oversight coded intentionally into them. (at least from bedrock) Dolphins have 2 breath bars (or 1 technically, but bear with me). When in water, they are holding their breath. To prevent drowning, they need to breach or just be out of the water. When out of water, they have a timer (the second breath bar). If they dont get back in the water, they dry out and die. So the mob will constantly try to manage both breath and drying out timers. The problem and oversight shows up in the games' hardcoded feature. When a player is far enough away from a mob. Their AI is deactivated, but any timers will not be frozen. This leaves the dolphin unable to prevent itself from dying or drowning. Mojang made dolphins that die on their own. And yet call us players monsters if we were to kill them.

I think the reason why the dolphins wete disappearing is a combination of 2 things 1) You used a lead on them... Underwater. They need to reach air to breathe or they will suffocate. 2) At a certain distance, Minecraft stops loading any mob AI and they just freeze in place. So, your dolphins were drowning because of that. A chunk loader might help, tho i don't know if that's a solution. The other solution is to put them in soul sand for the rest of their existence.

the thing with dolphins is that they need open air to breathe, or they actually drown, but if you give them any flat surface they *will* jump onto it and suffocate. to combat this, lower the water level in their tank (because you can't exactly raise the walkway) by a considerable amount so they can't just kill themselves on the pathways, or better yet, put a layer of glass and add soul sand on the bottom of their tank so they won't drown or suffocate.

For the dolphins, you need to have water columns to prevent them from drowning when the chunks unload.
@mpgaming6745 ай бұрын
I remember, I built a mob zoo and creative mode and I had seven dolphins, almost all of them except for three killed themselves via drowning. so it’s best to have water columns, most likely soul sand. but they can also die when they’re on the surface for too long.

This project is INSANE I just recently started playing Minecraft again and I’m struggling to build an iron farm XD you built a guardian farm, a MASSIVE build, a fish farm, you got almost the rarest animal in the game, along with all of its variants, and you proceeded to get every other water creature, WHAT? I remember watching this the first time and being like “wow” now I am absolutely blown away by your dedication of this. I feel like I have to watch all the behind the scenes to fully understand what you went through. This is awesome 👏
@BreezyBee75 ай бұрын
When you walk away from mobs, they become unloaded meaning they don't move but can still experience things like drowning and suffocation. Even if you nametag the dolphins, because of the fact that they need to constantly interchange between water and air, they will either drown or suffocate because they can't move. This doesn't happen with other mobs because the dolphin is unique in needing to constantly move between water and air to survive. Putting the dolphins in your spawn chunks (which are always loaded) or never leaving the dolphins are the only ways you can prevent this.
@arnaktfen39375 ай бұрын
You could also hide a chunk loader somewhere nearby to keep the dolphins alive. That way, you wouldn't need to move the build.

Putting them in minecarts in bubble columns works. Hey man, you've just single handedly gotten me back into minecraft content, thanks lol I've always been keen to get back into the game after a couple years of not playing, so I'm hoping that after I finish school I could get myself a proper gaming laptop or something and catch up on everything I've missed. And now that I'm older I'll get to appreciate all the game has to offer and be able to mess around with the game mechanics Thanks for your dedication, your builds and projects all turn out really cool :)

Ah, I have such fond memories of making a rare tropical fish aquarium in my ocean world. This video makes me really appreciate how much more fun it is to catch like 10 rare fish swimming around the ocean instead of getting all of them from a fish generator haha Seriously though, this is legitimately impressive. Is it weird to call this art, in a way? To dedicate so much time to something so utterly pointless just because you can, because you want to, because someone told you that nobody would. That is something like art.

12:48 don’t know if anyone else had said this but I will. Two solutions. A. You just use signs on all the exhibits. Doesn’t use xp, really easy if you have tons of wood or a wood farm. B. Catch all the fish first then build an anvil stack at the gold xp farm (or another possible xp farm, skeleton, enderman etc) so you don’t have to fly back and forth. Maybe only flights required are for bringing the fish to the xp farm and to their exhibit in shulker boxes. (Easier if you use a xp farm near all the fish) I know you’ve already done this but in case anyone else wants to pain themself or you do in the future for some odd reason

46:03 Turtles need to lay their eggs where they spawned, so abducting a turtle means it cant breed - breeding random wild ones and Silk Touching the eggs is the easiest way to get turtles even tho it can take long for them to hatch - but those hatchlings consider where they hatched their spawn and so WOULD breed there.

Great video and masochistic levels of effort, but one critism of the main build is that the pillars being between the pods instead of under them makes it feel verut unstable. Most buildings like these put the supports below the heavier parts of the build, so i think it would look better if the pillars were beneaths the pods

Estimation of the amount of fish you have to catch: 10*3072*(1/1+1/2+...+1/3050) tropical fish, assuming 1 in 10 tropical fish are useful, and you get 3072 random fish and want to fill 3050 slots. This is approximately 8.60028*3072*10= 264,200.60... I guess other people would use 3072 twice in the calculation, making it a few hundred more, but this is more accurate, because of the 22 common fish I guess you would already have by that time.
