Great video.. I just recently buried a treble hook off a crank bait in my hand, fish was about 5lb and thrashed hard and went deep. Never again... Using grips anytime using trebles from now on..

I just did the same exact thing last month! It buried the treble super deep into my thumb, I had some random dude cut the hook and then it was too short to push it through. Needed to drive 3 hours from our camp in the high Sierras to the closest ER hospital and have it removed. I just bought these today and fishing locally tomorrow. 👍

What would you say max handling weight for these grips are

I haven't found it yet. I just used it on a 12 lb northern pike the other day and it did just fine, I was actually kind of surprised with that one.

Just pick up a pair today at fleet farm. I was fishing yesterday and caught a white bass and when I was taking the hook out the bass jerked and got the spines of its dorsal fin right to the hand and that was not pleasant. Hope these lip grippers help.

Would these work for landing a large fish - and I'm looking at ice fishing and pulling a big one up through the hole, instead of gaffing it. (On a boat I'd think it would be too hard to get down to the water to use it.)

I think it could be useful for that. The biggest thing would be the fish would have to have it's mouth open in order to grab it. They can be used to land fish in a boat too, but being perfectly honest, they're designed more for controlling the fish once landed. It allows you to keep distance between your hand and the hooks.

What size grips are those?

These are the 9" grips. Of the two sizes I'd recommend these for most applications as they can be used even on smaller fish, but aren't undersized for larger fish either.

Juan, I couldn't agree more, youtube really needs to address this issue and come up with a way to skip ahead in a video..... :0 NO WAY, you're not going to believe it! It's your lucky day man, don't let the cat out of the bag, but there's this thing down at the bottom of the video called a play bar and it allows you to navigate throughout the video you're watching so if you want to skip parts of it YOU CAN! It's amazing how fast youtube picks up information in the comments, I bet in no time they'll have one of those fancy play bars on every single video on youtube! Congrats on making a difference in the youtube community and good luck fishing
