I'd love to know where you get your info from. Spent a week all over from Pensarn to Holyhead in the hunt for fish and now see that both you and Anglesey Tight Lines landed on rock marks within a few hundred metres of each other catching fish. Even paid to fish Penmon for mackerel and had nothing... fished fresh pumped blow and big blacks, razors and cockle for smalls along with squid and frozen mackerel.?
@theawfulangler2 ай бұрын
I grew up fishing anglesey, on what felt like, most weekends. So I know of a lot of marks. Now, I also have a lot of friends over that way, so it's easy to hear what's happening and learn which marks produce in certain conditions. There's still a big element of luck involved too though 😅

Great video Alex. Nice to see the Dolphins you know when they are about the sea is boiling with fish. Shame about the Mackerel Bashers. They are not Anglers like us. They are a Nuisance. Good second session. Tight lines.

Cheers Colin. The bloke was trying to teach his grandchildren to fish. Unfortunately from what I witnessed he was only passing on bad habits. Everyone has to learn something sometime.

Nice vid for a grim couple of sessions. Imagine hooking into British record mackerel 6lb+, Welsh record 4lb+ caught just a stones throw from where you were fishing. They're good sport on light tackle. Nice to see some dabs coming out, very tasty fried whole and a bit like eating off an afro comb. Thanks Alex for another adventure. 🧔 👍
@theawfulangler2 ай бұрын
Thanks Bob. I've never thought of giving dab a try, bit that's mainly as I grew up catching them in estuaries so they were full of silt and gritty

I wondered if there were tuna in amongst that feeding frenzy ....They conserve energy by feeding on what all the other predators smash up...and probably dont splash around so much ,when the work is being done for them...what an amazing sight that was...Thats fishing...not just about catching...
@theawfulangler2 ай бұрын
I know there have been bonito caught not far from where we were. I haven't heard of Tuna close in, but they're definitely about offshore. I hardly filmed in the evening session as frankly it was nice just to sit back and observe.

At least you have that mackerel added to your species list. Pretty special, seeing all that "sea life" on the move even if hardly any of it came near your bait.

Another entertaining vid buddy so my thanks! I was out in Morecambe yesterday, caught bugger all, couldn't have cared less 🤣😂 some of the lads around were a little miffed at the slow day but damned if I can find the effort to care!!! I loved every minute of being out there fish or no fish!..... well except for the 2 jumbo wind knots..... they can sod off! 🤣😂

I don’t think I ever seen a sea that full of fish. I have seen shoals in Aus Tenerife and off our coast, but nothing like that. I was once fishing in the solway in waders with a good friend. A fish bumped into my wader and then another, I told my friend who thought I was taking the piss, till one swam between his legs. This happened for a while and then just stopped. Never found out what they were. As it was 40 years ago we did think it might have been sea trout but as we never caught anything, was hard to say. Great video, nice to see the sea so full for once.

Was good to see that many Mackerel and other Wildlife about, I have Porpoise/Dolphin, Seal and even an Otter now and again where I fish. Had a whole bunch of Mackerel yesterday morning, Whitebait all over the place and they were hitting them really close in, great fun on a lighter rod and single hook. Biggest one I had hit the lure just as i closed the Bale Arm and before hand on handle to start reeling. Did not see any Bass around them unlike Thursday night. No fishing until Tuesday Morning now.

Great video mate. In my opinion, when the sea is alive like that and fish are in abundance, the fishing tends to be poor as a general rule. Too much choice for the fish down there. Will be like a buffet under the surface haha

Great video Alex I am really enjoying it. Why are you sometimes fishing with your fixed spool reels on top of the rod when they are in the tripod?
