Pretty cool thing saving that turtle. I live on a lake in Ohio and see painter turtles smashed on the road all the time. Saved a few myself !
@rockscousteau2 жыл бұрын
I have been seeing an enormous amount of turtles on the Ohio river too. But they are pretty scared due to all the eagles.....they always dive in real fast before I can film. But some days when it is sunny...I see 150 turtles in 2 or 3 hours on the shores entering the water.

@stevenjohann54352 жыл бұрын
you gotta take the turtles across the road in the direction they are heading........they will walk for hundreds of yards to reach their destinations.......veggie gardens, water sources, favorite shady spots at different times of day, etc....they can travel alot longer distances quicker than you would think, many times they will just turn around and be crossing the same road again later, because they were headed that way for a specific reason........

Oh Rocks. Not trying to make you feel bad, but yeah, you have to take a turtle to the side of the road it was heading to. They move around in the spring to mate and know where they are headed. You are such a great guy, I've watched you since the spring of 2020. There is so much knowledge about our environment we have never been taught that our native American predecessors just KNEW! Thanks from Karen, currently in North Carolina, originally from the Cleveland, Ohio area.

Thanks 👍 I just still do not understand where the bottles there are coming from. I find a few of them there a month. 9/10 are just super condition like this one......this is that same place. Down further I find more bottles...older ones.....on the other side of the creek. I found real nice arrowheads down there as well. But where the stuff is up in the bank I am lost. If I could find where it is...it has to be one heck of an old good dump.
@tarrasams74232 жыл бұрын
@@rockscousteau Yes it probably is a really nice dump with with the age of those bottles it's probably between the 1800s and the 1900s too bad you couldn't find that old dump if you look you might be able to find it 😊

I have found more of those there than what I show in the video.....Id say at least 25 of them. But I cannot figure out where the stuff is coming out of the bank....I even probed in there someplace. There is a dump someplace...I found a nice milk bottle there...some old food product jars that were 1890's.....a really rare mason jar.....if I can find the dump...it will be mind blowing. I just cannot locate it yet

I'm liking the dark color of the WV beer bottle . Nice point ✌️😎 even with the Barb damage. Dude because of the coat of everything many farmers are either not plowing or they subcontracting the work out to industrialized outfits. No till . Some are talking of selling out and quitting all together because they can't hardly make a living from it any longer . Needless to say I've had better spring seasons.

Yea....I went to a place today to walk a field....all no till now. There is one field to look close to my house....and it just sucks......all the good fields here are now full of houses. There are some fields in Marietta....but they wont let anyone hunt.....that is how it is here.....if there is a place...chances are unless you know the people....you are screwed. it would take 10 years of asking to get a few places to hunt here.

Great job nice day bottle and point. I noticed there’s some things that you do when your arrow hunting that you don’t make mention of and I copied the habit of you picking up all the pieces of flakes of Flint and to my surprise several times what looked like pieces of Flint or shippings were actually arrowheads it was just the way they were covered up made him look like a piece so that’s worked out for me well and Linda say almost have a gallon now of chips or flakes
@DIGGING.DISORDER2 жыл бұрын
Awesome information. I have a high spot I've located that almost devoid of flake, the few fired rock are crumbled up bad and the only points I have ever found on it are the big stemmed style, whatever those are called. That one you found is pretty sick, barb or not. GL&HH 🍀
@rockscousteau2 жыл бұрын
I have odd places like that too. Some places are all fired rock on the river....and you have to do 10 screens or more for 1 flake of flint......and every once in a while I find a point laying out. I go to some places like that often even though I dont find much because when I do....it is usually something super nice. You can even get into places where all the fired rock is colonial.....or even more modern from fishing camps and places like that. If you dig a trench on the place you think is the best.....3ft deep.....then excavate and screen off of that.....you will be able to tell what is there. You will know how good it is if you walk around say every 15 yards and do a test pit....dig like a 2 ft wide x 3 ft deep hole and sift it all. If there are more than say 10 flakes of flint......you are on a pretty good site. I do multiple holes like that.....then start digging where I got the most flakes from the test hole. If you do a hole and get hundreds of flakes......that is what you want. Then you know you are on a workshop site.
