I've got a Honda Talon sitting in the garage right now, and watching you guys cover yours in a thick layer of mud makes me cringe. Glad it's not me that has to chisel that machine back out of the muck. I think it would be worth noting that the Talon had NO problem with the belt heating up. OH WAIT! That's right, Honda's don't have belts................. ;) As always, thanks much for sharing. Steve

It appeared to detune alot when under load in the mud, the talon as you know, has a overheat light for the DCT, i the african twin, when it overheats the DCT it detuned the engine to make you notice and pull over to cool down..

@@wraith511802003, let's face it; the Talon is naturally-aspirated and only puts out 104hp stock. I do know that it goes into a limp mode of sorts when the DCT overheats, but I don't recall them saying that it had engaged. Those big tires unquestionably drag it down some. Add a couple of hundred pounds of wet mud and I'm not surprised at a performance drop. Steve

My brother has a 4 seat talon for like a year and half and that thing is a beast, he's wife just sold the cam ann for a 2 seat talon r live, and I probably going to sell the atv for a talon next year , my brother trusted it so much that he gives me the key few times and just go and have some fun, is all what he toll me and he sink it few times and after removing the water it just started fine after few trys, is just and amazing machine.

This is exactly why a lot of mud machines have heavier spring rates. The talon just needs the springs adjusted if you’re going to cake it like that haha. She was squatting pretty hard lol.

I'm sure you guys are already home and done with the cleaning process but go to Lowe's or home Depot and get something called a turbo nozzle for the pressure washer. When it comes to the extra thick mud it works well because it is a thin strong nozzle that spins in a circular motion. That will break up that thick crap easily .
