I just bought the Twister XL, I’m gonna put the 15.8HP Predator engine on a 1436 Jon boat. Hopefully it gets good results like yours.

Like 17-18 if I remember right. That was bare boat. As light as I could get it. Cooler is essential lol

Yeah I highly recommend a stage 1. All that does is let the motor breath. Gets rid of emissions. The way these engines pass emissions to start with is they tune them so lean. I had 20 hours on my motor before you could tell my spark plug had been ran. I have a 459 on a feather lite surface drive that’s about to get a stage 1 kit to it. You will see noticeable increase with stage 1. In my opinion, the step from stock to stage 1 was the biggest difference in the build than even to stage 3.

@@codylanning1524thanks for the info, I’m thinking of getting a billet flywheel, rod, and valve springs. Probably go with a mikuni clone carb. I have a surface drive and I’m hoping to get 20 mph

That’s exactly what I did for my last ride video. Good luck with it. Mine blew pretty quick. I was running 23mph. But seems like them motors can’t hold that rpm for that long. Watch that video and in the discretion I listed all my parts I used

How’d you make your trim setup?

Been meaning to make a video of it. It’s a Amazon 1300lbs linear actuator with a double pole/double throw switch. Takes the place of where the adjustment bolt is. I will try to make a short video soon. It should come standard on these kits. It really makes a huge difference

@@codylanning1524 did you make a video yet? I could have missed it, I guess. I'm looking at a 1320 Pound 12 volt actuator now but I don't think it's waterproof. It's designed to raise beds and chairs so wouldn't need to be waterproof. It's such a brilliant idea that I'm surprised they don't offer one as an option when ordering a kit too.

I honestly haven’t had time. If you look at my last video, I do show it a little better. The actuator I used is the one you mention for bed lifts and such. It does have a IP rating but not high. Once I got it on the boat I sealed it with lexel silicone best I could. So far so good. The boat stays outside uncovered though the rain and the unit still works perfectly. It’s simple, double throw double pole momentary switch. Please watch my last video and if you more details about it from there then I’ll make sure to take the time to show it up close and how i did it
