It makes sense! In the first Lion King. Scar had a British accent. If you look at Mustafa and Scar they don't look like they are related.

Yeah scars name has always been Taka, it changed when he got his scar over his eye. Mufasa became lost as a cub and his family is somewhere up river. They can be seen at 2:31. Each pride in different territories have a male lion who runs things. Mufasa was destined to become the king over all lions around the pride lands.

Yeah and scar a.k.a. Tucker was meant to be the evil scar but it really just frown me off how they made scar into a villain like I get it but he was such a nice kind person. Like I really don’t believe how a person like that can be so rude to me now that murdered his own brother.
@coolsteve19854 ай бұрын
Scar’s real name has always been revealed to be Taka since the 90’s. That’s not something they just made up. Read the Lion King books from the 90’s. A Tale Of Two Brothers I think it’s called. And originally Mufasa and Scar was never meant to be blood related brothers. That’s something they added to the script at the last minute. Also Mufasa’s father is the king of Pride Rock. Scar’s father is the king of a different area. By the end of the movie Mufasa gonna find his real parents and find out he’s the king of the Pridelands.

Apparently, the “Tales of Two Brothers” books were fan fiction that managed to get the Disney approval to prevent copyright. I dunno about copyright and all that, but I’d imagine even if Disney just stuck their stamp on it to maybe shut the author up, they still own the ideas and can use that if they want.

06:25 what you say is nonsense, scar’ hatred towards mufassa, makes much more sense in this new story where we learn that scar and mufassa were not brothers and that it was scar who was part of the royal family and destined to be king and not mufassa

I love the idea told that Mufassa should not become king basically that it was in fact Scar who was a member of the royal family, that he and Scar were not brothers in reality, that Scar saved Mufassa's life who insisted that Mufassa live with them, and that his be Mufassa we don't know how who became king instead of Scar, it's a genius idea because it teaches us why Scar felt such hatred towards Mufassa, really Disney I congratulate them, we would say that they will finally stop making woke films and concentrate on making films with real stories

I watched this movie today, and it was amazing. I always wanted to see a movie about Mufasa and Scar and their story. Taka was always Scar's original name (many have already said so in the comments). Before you react to a movie and its story, maybe you should do a little more research on what it is about. There have been books about The Lion King since the 90s; one of them is The Tale of Two Brothers (already mentioned in the comments), so nothing was invented just like that, but some things were changed. In general, the film is excellent and very emotional, you can learn a lot from it. I am personally delighted and finally know how Mufasa and Scar became what they are. I also adore Sarabi's character. She has always been one of my favorites, and I am glad that in this film, we also see her story and not just appearances here and there. Let's not forget Eshe and Afia, amazing moms. ❤

Also, for those interested, each name has its own meaning (here's an explanation for all the characters we have so far, Uru and Ahadi were originally the names of Mufasa and Scar's parents). ❤ Mufasa - meaning "king" or "leader" the name comes from the smaller languages of Central Africa, but is not directly Swahili. Taka - Swahili for "filth" or "desire", depending on the context. This name symbolizes the negative characteristics of the character (later known as Scar). Sarabi - means "mirage" or "illusion" in Swahili. Seraphina - of Latin or Hebrew origin means "burning angel". Nala - means "gift" or "gift" in Swahili. Chiara - comes from the Italian language and means "bright" or "pure". However, it can be interpreted as a symbol of light in an African context. Rafiki - means "friend" in Swahili. Zazu - can be onomatopoeic, related to a bird's voice. Zira - means "hate" or "dislike" in Swahili, which reflects her character. Kovu - means "scar" in Swahili. Vitani - The name has no clear meaning in Swahili, but may come from the word "vita", which means "war" (which corresponds to her warlike character). Nuka - can mean "stink" or "dirt" in Swahili. Eshe - means "life" in Swahili. Afia - means "health" in West African languages (eg Akan). Masego - means "blessing" in the Setswana language. Pumbaa - means "stupid" or "forgetful" in Swahili, which matches his behavior. Timon - comes from the Greek language and means "respect" or "honor". Kion - not directly Swahili, but can be related to the word "kiongozi", meaning "leader". Obasi - means "God" or "king" in the Igbo language of Nigeria. Uru - means "freedom" or "gold color" in Swahili. Ahadi - means "promise" in Swahili.

Just watched this movie, and the story made perfect sense, and it was really good. Actually it makes the story in the lion king movie make more sense. Plus its weird to say you dont like a story from a trailer that really isnt portraying the story as it is.

Story doesn’t have to be the same or perfect. You can only do so much with a story piecing together from old scripts as the original creator is dead….i feel people are getting mad mainly cause it’s not original but not everything in the world can be an original people can cry about it if they want to.

As silly as it may sound, I kinda think the 2019 re-make wasn’t so much “look, another re-make” but more of them saying “we’re gonna make this a franchise bigger than it already is. 2019 re-make is just a starting point” but it also allowed them to make alterations. Something basic like different accents between Mufasa and Scar May have been nothing special in the OG version but to again make one “British” and the other “American” for me is them saying the two aren’t related. They had the chance to give them both the same accent but decided not too and there’s gotta be a bigger reason why……well, now we know why.

"All about the money" indeed. Im so done with disney. They ruined 101 dalmations, Alladin, lion king, starwars, Marvel, Snow White, Alice in wonderland, peter pan, willow, the little mermaid, etc. All for a quick buck and trying to rely upon modern dei crap and nostalgia bait. The only reason these cgi films gross any kind of profit is because the newer generations have no idea what the originals are like or what made them so great. So them this is the original. Then they get taught to accept anything that is popularized. They have no respect for the 2d hand drawn animations of the past. They have no ability to think critically so it doesn't click to think that this undermines the whole scar being a villain taking over the pride. Remember the same generation that will say they enjoyed this film enjoyed skibidi toilet and the whuak tuah girl while growing up with baby shark and their faces stuck in tablets. Ive seen plenty of other shows or films that utilize iconic disney characters like snow white or alice in wonderland. They do not need to rewrite the entire character or story. They take little elements like the name or parts of their story or their iconic look and use them without ruining the original source material.

Yea na this was a big miss from yall. Clearly you went into this wanting to hate it so you just eye rolled and questioned anything in the trailer. I'm all for this because it's actually an original story tied to a classic story rather than just another live action remake with the exact same story as the animated version. You shouldn't have even bothered reacting to this let alone post this when it's clear you didn't want to. Thanks for wasting your and our time.

Fan fiction doesn't count as "real story". You have zero ownership of this ip so you have zero reason to be entitled to it
