He didn’t betray him in the scene he initially disguised all the things he did as things that taka did such as taka being the one that smelled the flowers on Sarabi instead of him. However, sarabi continuously proved that she knew mufasa was superior and the one who did all the amazing things. Scar wouldn’t have been able to get let alone keep her anyway
