Say what you will about the 2019 remake, but it did what it supposed to do. Stick to the Original. Jon Favreau made plain and simple, "You can't remake "The Lion King" and then do you're on thing, you have to honor the legacy of what came before." This remake was never made to live to the OG, it was made to tribute the OG in a different format. The thing is, if you're going to remake and animated classic, stick to the Original beat4beat, you have everything you loved about what came before and at the same time, you easily open doors to change, add, and do new things. None the less I'm looking forward to seeing Mufasa.

Hi I decided to become a new subscriber here this is the first video I watched here I enjoyed it I agree with you feelings of my own it hurts me to feel Lin Manuel Miranda that I am a huge fan of his musical works here it's just ok and slowly growing on me I know I didn't enjoy 2019 Lion King that movie from 2019 forever left a bad taste in my mouth. I felt suprise to like this one I always wanted a brother song that I love most in it I consider that my song as I always wanted a brother a sibling. I have enjoyed looking up to friends of mine as siblings too. Another thing that hurted me to feel watching the movie for my first time I'm a very huge Timon & Pumbaa fan but they were too much for me getting in the way of The Mufasa story lots of times I would have been fine I feel with just a little as Hakuna Mufasa made me laugh. Throughout the movie my mind felt like Kiara when I seen Timon and Pumbaa come on too much I was like Quiet please Timon & Pumbaa. Amazing review I liked it. Not a huge top fav 2024 movie but a fun decent one to me.

I actually rewatched the 2019 live-action remake earlier this year. I’ve watched the original 1994 so many times and while I’m not the biggest fan of the recent remake, I don’t mind it overall. I think it’s okay. It mostly moves at a steady pace and was really well made but the CGI needed a lot of work which this new prequel has done from the looks of it too.

I alwags go back and forth about seeing anything in theaters this time of year, because there's just so much to fit in... So spoiler-free reviews that still manage to offer specific enough takeaways, like this one, are very helpful! What caught my attention about this movie to start was how it seems to bring in elements from both sequels made for the '94 original, but that wasn't enough to sell me - but hearing it also has the original's Shakespearean melodrama tones has cinched it for me, I think. My thanks for a video that helped me make up my mind! (No small thing to us folks who are "chronically" indecisive! 😂)

I was excited to see that an origin story of Mufasa and Scar would be made after all these years. The one thing that kind a threw me off was the direction of Mufasa not being of royal blood. But, to my surprise; Barry Jenkins made it work. I saw the film and I really enjoyed it, from the characters, the story, the music, and the visuals. And I love the honorable mention to James Earl Jones, that was very nice. Mufasa: The Lion King is definitely a very good film in my overall opinion and not as terrible as the norm falsely claims it to be.

I’ve actually heard rumours that if this new movie does well enough, it could lead to other sequels and spinoffs from the 2019 live-action lion king movie like Mufasa here for example, but as you stated in your review, Dave Lee. The cinema landscape has changed so much since then because of Covid and other factors too. I think it’s going to be middle of the road success at best. I’ve heard there’s plans to do a sequel to the new little mermaid movie next year as well as Mulan from 2020 but given how long ago it was and the timeframe it came out too, I think that one quietly got cancelled.

14:30 yeah and I think part of that might be the simple fact of the company forgetting at times we the audience love the villains. I think the last time In terms of films the last time the main animation studio had a good villain was probably big hero 6 (I know that had a twist villain but still.). I through Pixar into the mix but then again they go back and forth on having a villain and no villain; and when they have a villain they go back and forth between good (or just being decent) and forgettable. I wish i'd say the same for the television animation branch but hell that branch can produce better villains than the main animation studio nowadays.

Initially, I wasn't a fan of the direction they were going for, when it first commercial about Mufasa not being of royal blood, but after some time, and going to see the movie, I can now see how that angle works well for this movie. And I can see how this led into the 2019 Lion King. I will always hold the classic one as Mufasa's line has always been of royal lineage in my heart, and DVD collection, but I do think this one works well for story it is telling. Honestly, this one is one of those movies I can honestly go back and watch, or one of those guilty pleasure movies to lay about and watch.

Its a bad movie I didn’t like the Ideal changes from the source material its very important that Mufasa & Scar are real blood brothers not just friends who became metaphorical brothers , plus if Mufasa is not blood related to Scar then the previous movies don’t make sense , Simba calls scar uncle when he isn’t according to this new adaptation , Mufasa tells Simba about kings of the past , how could that be if Mufasa is just a stray , Mufasa is a userper Scar should be king , so this movie writing is problematic , the songs in the new mufasa movie are too much and barely relevant or necessary , events are rushed everything happens so quickly we don’t have time to adjust with new things from the pride. To the water fall to the cliffs to snow mountains to milele , the fiction is exaggerated those battles and events were really really unbelievable and I know lions talking is not real but its the point of the movie the other fiction were inconsistent with the story , lastly the liberal political messaging within the movie is ultra focused and pointless not saying liberalism cannot spread its ideas through cinema but at some point the racism & sexism becomes annoying .

Mufasa.. the terrible sequel to the terrible cgi version of lion king no one wanted.. im sure someday,maybe, Disney will get the picture no one wants their god awful live action remake filth.. but modern dei disney are pretty stupid and stubborn, so expect them to waste more money on more terrible unwanted remakes of their classic animated to films for a while

From what I’ve seen, this movie is a flop by all standards, it’s not even the number one movie, although that’s what they claim, Sonic 3 is. From what I’ve heard, people were clapping in the theater when the movie ended, and other than the creator of this video, noboy liked/like Mufasa, hopefully Disney will stop making their live action remakes now that they know those don’t make profits

Mufasa _absolutely_ was the #1 movie *globally* when they claimed it was - Sonic had only opened in the US at the time. So, even if it wasn't the #1 in the US, it was, technically, correct. The movie has made $500,000 at the Box Office... while that's a gigantic step down from the first, that's a huge taking for any movie - and is now in the profit margin. The movie has a 56% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes - and while that's fairly split, that does mean a majority of critics enjoyed it. It also has a 90% audience score from over 5,000 reviews - so... no... saying "nobody likes Mufasa... other than the creator of this video" is completely, totally false. So, no, absolutely not "a flop by all standards." Everything you just said is false and misinformed.
