The 610 is a 60cc saw, my Echo 620p is a 60cc saw and has a 3/8 chain. Also the Homelite super xl and 360 have 3/8 chain, both of them are 57cc saws.

Goes to show how familiar I am with those saws lol. I was thinking the 610 is 54cc like the 10-10 but you are right it is 60cc.

Hey mate love it!! Make me want to port one of the few I have here although I do have 2 spare 610’s and 2 650’s… I reckon maybe a thought how about a 10-10 exit plate over the outside port?? Just a bit of back pressure🤔 also I’d like to know how u went about the impulse it looks to be interpreted into the oiler some how

I have always run 3/8 chains on my Mac 610's, as that is what they came with. I run skip tooth chains, as they cut better in the type of wood I have access to. I only have a couple of saws with.325 chains, one of which is a new old stock 1999 McCulloch Timberbear, which will only be a display saw, and the other is a Stihl. I find the .325 has a smoother cut, but don't see much difference in cutting speed. I have to admit that I have very little experience with the .325, so I am not making any judgements on it. The saw looked to perform better with the stock exhaust than the modified one. I have seen Muffler Delete had an exhaust with dual outlets on a Mac, and wondered if you had talked to him about whether that exhaust made a difference or not? I plan on doing a video of a stock 610 versus the Smitty Special to see how much improvement it makes over stock, and at some point will adapt my McCulloch kart expansion chamber on it to see what it does. Will be a lot of fun. Keep up the good work !

I don’t know about the chain. Seemed as though it held rpms in the cut with 3/8. It looks like it’s a solid saw, it’s running and idling good. Mr O is going to use it for work, not racing I assume. Still will be better than any stock saw by a large margin. I say it’s a win. Just run it for a while and put it in the mail!! Anxious for him to get his hands on it!
