In democracy,power is to the people, in Islam power is to Allah

Irshad Tarsoo , power always belongs to Allah. No power belongs to people, wether democracy or anything. Allah puts people under democracy, dictatorship, tyranny, monarchy or anything else. No one can go out of Allah’s power and control. There are only societies with more or less justice. People want to live in societies where justice prevails.

Some of them weak muslims who are running away from tyrany of their rulers who want to apply shariah only to weak people but not on the elite. Some of them muslims who don't consider shariah of other muslim thoughts as right shariah. Democracy is not shirk. Nowadays Democracy is a shelter for those who run away from tyrany of their rulers as it was during the Meccanic Period of our Prophet's, peace be upon him, life. Democracy does not force you leave your religion. As far as there is justice in democracy its ok. People doesnt care if it is khalifate or democracy or kingdome or anything else. As far as there is justice and protection of people's rights on life, religion, health, property, dignity and equal treatment and just laws then that will be the best place to live. If muslims can create such a society then it will be the best place to live. However nowadays the closest to justice places are the democratic countries.

@@TheYereke Assalamualikum brother...... Democracy is not Shirk as far as electing representatives is concerned. But a part of Democracy is Popular Sovereignty (i.e. Legislations and rulings according to the people) which is absolute Shirk. Qur'an says "Legislation belongs to Allah" (12:40). We are the servants of Allah and we have to live according to the Laws of Allah because only those laws can impart Justice in true sense. As far as Democracy of the West is concerned, they say "Legislation belongs to people". I think you can derive the conclusion yourself now. May Allah guide us all ❤

just because a "scholar" is popular doesn't mean that they are on the right path..All of the past scholars whose names we mention today were either jailed or tortured in their life time. imam Ahmad went against the notion that the Quran was created.he was tortured. ibn taymiyyah went against the sufi's and shia and was jailed and died on jail. today these scholars would wallahi be called extremists and terrorists. do not fallow a scholar blindly..upon us is the Quran and sunnah..imam.abu hanifa pointed to the grave of the prophet and said the only person we follow blindly is this man here

So democrazy is making their own ahkam and declares stuff for halal which is haram and opposite, and Allah swt is al-Hakam so only he has the right to make a ruling and he sent us the Shari3ah Alhamdulillah. It is only the business of society." says, this is to separate religion from the state. In such a case, the state apostatized (abandoned religion). If the society consents to such a government, or if the government will make laws by taking the society's proxy in the parliament (that is, by voting), the society will become apostate just as the government is apostate. In this case, the following verse applies to both that government and that ummah: "Those who do not judge by what Allah has revealed, they are the disbelievers themselves." (Surah Maida, Verse 44) A political regime that accepts the principle of secularism means that it has rebelled against the rules of Islam. Therefore, first of all, this government apostatized, and then those who obeyed this administration became apostates one by one. Just as those who take part in the political administration are apostates one by one, the masses obeying this government also fall into apostasy (kufr).] (Mavkif'ul-Akıl, 4/280)

I will grant him that our western society is on a highway to hell, homosexuality has been around since day one but people found it was best to keep it "under wraps", because physical and mental abuse would have made life unbearable, however if society is to function then we have to accept that there are many that have made valuable contributions to society and provided that they observe reasonable standards of decorum then we should not ostracize them from society.

Miftah Rido Democracy is not the act of protecting rights. Dempcracy is simply a political means. Democracy means that majority rules. For example, this means the majority of a nation can choose to be racist and the minority will suffer even if the vote was won by just 1 percent. In such a case, the minority would be the 49% and the majority would be the 51%. Democracy is simply a decision making system.

There is a rule in democracy all are equal before law and majority people can't suppress the rights of minority. Everyone had the right to express and everyone has the right to vote. In our country everyone has the freedom of expressions if something wrong happens. It's not that someone would promote stupidity and people would be just be silent. In democracy people would disagree would have a debate and then they would have a decision. In islam Sharia law applies to muslim only and it is confirmed in Quran 2:156 that we can't forced someone to follow Islam. So ya democracy is not completely forbidden

Juan Agosto No its not. Islam is like Islam. Do not compare Islam to the systems of kufr in such a way. There is no socialism or communism in Islam. Islam does not teach pure equality or the lack of private property. Islamic economics does not allow interest, sales tax and such. Islamic economics teaches about Zakah. This is when your excess wealth is given to the bait Al-Maal and any citizen of the Islamoc state who needs it asks the Islamic state for what they need. Socialism and communism teaches complete economic equality. Those ideas teach about equal redristibution while Islam teaches about equitable redristribution. Islam is about equity and Socialism/communism is kufr.

I can't believe that men like these are to represent us as muslims. If he (Mufti Menk) wants people to listen he should treat them with respect and dignity. Comparing homosexuality with bestiality in such a fashion is a clear insult toward these people and will only drive them away from Islaam. (Is insulting the way of the prophet?) It is literally the same thing as calling all muslims terrorists and saying that if we let them, they will impose terror on everybody. Therefore they must be bad people. Furthermore; democracy has a place in islaam, the prophet encouraged this in many ways. It is not something bold and evil as this man states and it isn't more or less godly than any other system (caliphate). The same goes for freedom of belief and speech, these have been fundamentals in the early and late islamic civilizations. It is ironic that relatively young states such as Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Qatar are considered the ultimate example. Their state and their system are not even a 100 years old. The Ottoman Empire was over 600 years old and did allow for freedom of speech and belief. And another thing for the people who blame the west for what is happening in Syria; Saudi Arabia and the UAE are the biggest funders of ISIS, Al Qaeda, Taliban etc. No democratic state has ever offered them a penny.

HoldShiftt2Run I disagree with you my dear friend. Doing something (Islam) more extreme or more strict doesn't necessarily make it better. The earliest caliphates were actually more liberal and closer to Islam than the bigot modernist states like KSA. Intolerant conservative Wahhabi/salafi's (who by the way often don't know islam/quran/sunnah very well) like you are the actual minority.
