I just started, literally, started a week ago crouching, I had to do this over and over until I got it right, my first project, you explain and show it so well, so even a newbie like me understands it. I did DC's instead of treb's..this meant needing to do 7 rows to square it off...also I added an extra row of DC's but instead of the shell in the middle I did 3 chains, sc into top of shell, 3 chains then 5 DC's into top, which equates to 8 rows follow by a row of sc to do the tassels into...

I don’t! But I do have a wall hanging pattern, which you could potentially use as a placemat! kzbin.info/www/bejne/e3uqpqqXZq-XfsU You can also adjust the size literally by just adding more triple crochets on either side of the shells! Hope this helps 😊

If you're going to put a hot cup on it you're better off using Cotton so it won't melt.
