Steve Winwood is an icon of icons since he was 14 yrs old. He was called "Little Stevie Winwood'. Child prodigy, singer, songwriter, famous on all kinds of keys, guitar and many others. He's worked with just about every other icon you can think of, including Jimi Hendrix who sought him out to play organ on 'Voodoo Chile' & told him bandmate that he wanted to be in a band with Steve. The list is endless. Traffic is in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame.

He started playing "professionally" for his dad's pub band at the age of eight. He was too young to legally be in the building so they turned the upright piano around and hid him behind it.

Steve Winwood and Traffic are an outstanding band, with great musicianship, great lyrics and great production on all their studio work. This song has been covered by a few other groups, one of the best I have seen live was by the Grateful Dead, with Keyboardist Brent Mydland taking the Lead Vocal duties, with his unique, raspy delivery. A great song with lots of room to roam.

Good decision going with the studio version. If you should want to do their live look for ones where they are much older and less impaired.lol And it's not because they weren't good live but whoever did the recordings was just as high.lol newer live versions are also much longer. Traffic did not have a bad song. Steve Windwood was also in the band Blind Faith with Eric Clapton and Ginger Baker. 🚜🤠🐂

I saw Traffic in concert and the sound sucked. Much better in studio. I feel asleep in the concert. LOL. Saw them at Auditorium in Chicago.
