The chorus gives you an idea of how much Robert Plant liked bands like the Isley Brothers. Who at one time had a guitarist named Jimi Hendrix.

Ok, I watched till the end. Early Zep has a heavy, heavy blues influence to their music. May I humbly suggest you do album reviews of them starting at the beginning. Not sure how much of them you've done but I know you'll love it even more than VH.

I just found you man, watched your Blackfoot react and subbed! I like your honesty...I grew up with Led Zep, to me, their 1st 2 albums were them doing what they knew and were comfy with, nasically blues rock..then they began expanding...I wish you knew what it was like waiting for the next album! Such a wonderful time for music!

It's not surprising at all. Led Zeppelin created magic in their music, with Jimmy Page, the band's guitarist, producing every one of their albums. And the sale of their albums made Led Zeppelin the 5th biggest selling music artist of all time, behind only Michael Jackson at #4, Garth Brooks at #3, Elvis Presley at #2, and of course, The Beatles at #1. I see this is the 1st studio track you've actually heard by the band. That explains a lot. It makes sense this would be your favorite, when all you've heard are live performances. Led Zeppelin were very improvisational, often changing the songs from night to night, sometimes adding long jam sessions in the middle of the songs. If long jam sessions aren't your thing, better to stick with the studio recordings, instead of live recordings, which by their very nature, are (for the most part) going to be inferior in sound quality and structure. Plus, for someone so interested in studying song structure, why wouldn't you want to hear the original studio recordings first? That it how you hear song structure, not through live jams. I see you've reacted to the live version of Stairway to Heaven and the Heart live cover version, without actually hearing the original studio recording. To me, that makes no sense at all, because you have nothing to compare any of it to. My suggestion is to do another reaction to Stairway to Heaven, but this time, listen to the one you probably should have started with, the original studio recording. I also recommend checking out the studio recording of the song Since I've Been Loving You. It will show you the true power and magic that was Led Zeppelin. Original Studio recording of Stairway to Heaven kzbin.info/www/bejne/h5ypZKKur86If5Y Original Studio recording of "Since I've Been Loving You" kzbin.info/www/bejne/rJSslqBjgZhsbtk I'm gonna give this channel a chance and subscribe and see if you take any of this advice. I hope you do, because I know it will open up a whole new world of amazing music for you. Peace

Zeppelin ruled the world in the 70's. They were unique. They did everything and did it all well. Nope, you can't pigeon-hole the mighty Zep, they were their own genre and will never stop surprising you. The first two albums are very bluesy. I encourage you to do yourself a favor and just start from the beginning! My favorite band for over 50 years. There's nobody like Zeppelin! Thank you for your thoughtful reaction. 🐐☮️

I appreciate the comment and I do agree to some extent, being your own genre requires a lot of innovation and work. Ive been reacting long enough to tell where they might have built some of their sound from.

@@MugnifyRTS I meant no offense, so I hope you didn't take it that way. I really enjoyed your reaction, and have been subscribed to your channel for awhile. As teens they idolized the old bluesmen..Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, Robert Johnson, and others, so they were steeped in it. That's why the first two albums are heavily blues influenced and paid homage to them. You may already know all that. Anyway, thanks for the reply and I look forward to more Zeppelin reactions from you in the future.

Lead singer & harmonic Robert Plant* Jimmy Page lead guitarist band founder producer editor mixer* John Paul Jones bass keyboards mandolin & other instruments* John (Bonzo) Bonham greatest drummer. Each are the GOAT of their craft, & together they are the GODS of music. Rock Blues Folk Reggae etc. Page founded the band late summer of (1968) they finished up tour obligations he had as The Yardbirds, Led Zeppelin one was recorded mixed etc in 36 hours, & released the first week of January (1979). Their second album was written & recorded while touring, & released in October of (1969). These guys growing up loved the blues, & were influenced by great blues artist from young teens. Page Plant & Bonham were self taught, JPJ had classical training. They took America by storm touring here, they sold out every concert, even playing one city 3 or 5 nights in a row. Every song is amazing, on every album, you may not care for a couple but you’ll love far more of them. They were geniuses at arranging writing & playing music, & you never know what genre you’ll get. Sadly they split up when drummer John Bonham passed away late September (1980), they knew he couldn’t be replaced. I hope you decide to continue this journey down the Led Zeppelin rabbit hole, I will tune in, thank you.

Not sure exactly how they did it in this specific song, but you can add an effect pedal to any instrument. Maybe Jimmy had an extra phaser pedal that they plugged Robert’s mic into. (At least that’s what you do when you’re first starting out with limited equipment). I’m sure they had better options by this point in time. Jimmy’s solo mimics Robert’s verse delivery … comes in soft and chill, then blasts in with power. I love their dynamic.

I recommend listening to each entire album through Physical Graffiti. Zepplin is known for their production of the entire album as a whole. Then you can choose which video you'd like to share with the rest of us Zep heads. They moved through Blues, Hard Rock & Folk Rock over their recording career as a band. Each person being excellent in their collaborative efforts. However, I would also recommend to put away thoughts of labeling each section as though in a video format. Zepplin doesn't fit into a mold. Introspective is a good descriptive word for this tune & others.

Zeppelin threw all their influences into every song.....a bit of this style a bit of that style, some of this some of that. They also rewrote the book of how to get from A to B to C.....which meant one never knew what was coming next. That's why along with The Beatles they are called the best to ever do it.
