Before saying your opinion keep in mind that head bases look slimmer without fur. And it's not a realistic style but a toony one and my own fursuit style ( every maker has their own style). And I looked at alot of polar bear pictures + how other fursuit makers have made toony bears.

I have a question. When making the foam base, should i use a balaclava as an alternative to a foam bucket head base? Ive seen many different videos using either but I'm not sure whats best. When you need to clean the balaclava, if you glued foam to it, how would you wash it?

The Paranoid One you’d need to add elastic to the bottom of the balaclaba, where your human jaw sits, and around your head at an angle. Mugiwara has a tutorial on moving jaws :)

Magiwara Cosplay Ah, it's not the fur, it's more of the snout position and forehead size/shape and ear shape and whatnot. I can understand that it's your first time doing a bear, I just wanted to mention it because I noticed that no one else had, and wondered if maybe wanted feedback like this. This took you a long time, be proud of what you made. You've made the first bear pattern that I've seen, which is wonderful, and it'll help so many people make bear fursuits. It's just that as someone with a bear fursona who has intently studied the way bears look, it's missing a lot of distinctly bear looking features. And that's ok, because it took you a lot of time to make this thing. But as someone who's very picky and wants to be easily identified as a bear, I decided to not use your pattern and figure it out on my own.

The muzzle is already shorter that my canine bases, and the fur makes those parts look shorter. And it's not a realistic style but a toony one and my own fursuit style ( every maker has their own style). And I looked at a lot of polar bear pictures + how other fursuit makers have made toony bears (some of those actually had longer/bigger ears and muzzle but still looked like cute bears).
