Most production potters actually do stick the base, as far as I've witnessed. They generally don't want to spend time trimming at all, so by removing that extra bit at the bottom, it saves that much more time. It really does help to get rid of that base of clay, even when trimming, because it has a likelihood to catch your trim tool and gouge the clay. it's all meant to knock off time. Have you watched 'youdanxxx' on youtube? His videos are great to watch. Keep up the good work :)
