Not 100% sure but it seemed to me like you asked about Shahid Bolsen's position. I don't think he ever said the Gulf rulers' heart bleeds for oppressed. As a Bangladeshi we both know how our people are treated there. But I think what he said is that the foundation laid by BRICS may later benefit Muslims and that he thinks this is not the right time to criticize them at this time with which I don't agree.

I think the characterisation of Galloway is completely wrong. He says what he believes. I also think you’ve got it wrong on Syria. Very soon after the calls for democracy in Syria, the extremists and ISIS & Saudi did get involved in Syria and they colluded with US, UK and Israeli actors. Had Assad lost power (without the support of Russia & Iran), then Syria would have been further occupied by the ‘unholy trinity’ and civil war continued between depraved Sunni Islamist factions as is occurring today in both Libya and Sudan. The myth of Moslem unity is exposed by the behaviour of the Moslems in Blackburn where self-serving farmboy mullahs and also the ‘Muslim vote’ have succeeded in colluding and nobbling a superb pro-Gaza candidate Craig Murray (as he is not ‘independent’) that will only help the Labour Party. Still too much sectarianism that not even Gaza and Al Aqsa can unify.

Representation of oneself and arguing your corner in a court system is not the same as legislation and making arguments in a parliament whose sole function is for legislative purposes. Sitting in the courts of pharaoh and debating rules and laws is participating in his system. Jafar bin AbuTalib represented himself and the Muslims in the court of Najashi against the allegations of Quraish represented by Amar binAlas. Conflating protection of one rights in any system is not considered indorsement of the system and its procedures if one is obliged to attend, and you have the right to appoint representative to even act on your behalf. There are also examples of previous prophets who have also defended themselves in court's of tyrant rulers without being subservient to the system.

I agree with many views/ideas brother Jalal expressed in the interview. However he is dead wrong about George Galloway's election support which is nothing more than splitting the vote and keeping one of the most consistent and loudest voices for Palestinians and against genocide out of politics. The idea that George's view have to be 100% consistent with him or any other Muslim or non Muslim to be supported is ridicules. Who would be a better voice for Palestine and many other issues that Muslims and others decent people are concerned about better than George? None in the "Muslim/Arab countries-people" has done anything for Palestine and none i know of who been more consistent on the Palestinian issue, general Arab/Muslim, and working British people than George.

Br Jalal the issue is George Galloway is problematic however aligning with LGBT individuals like Owen Jones is too a myopic outlook because further down the line there will have to be a conversation on whether you are an ally or not, and the possibility of compromise. I mean, politics is the art of navigating compromise anyway, as Muslims in the West we will have to decide how much compromise we have to make and is acceptable.

The reason poverty stats are higher in Muslim areas is because a lot of people are self employed declaring lower incomes to claim tax credits free school meals and avoid tax. Similarly refuges are helping a lot of women who came on spouse visas and have made false allegations of domestic abuse against their British husband to get a passport free housing and prevent the father seeing his kids. The largely British Muslim immigration lawyers and refuge workers know all these cases are fraudulent but play along because it's in their interests. A bit like Shabana Mahmood and others are playing along in their own interests. Then we have a big problem of drug dealing within the community. Also a large number of people driving like lunatics and throwing litter on the streets. A lot of us think we only have to be good t9 our own relatives and friends not the community in general. It starts with behaviour honesty respect decency which will build a strong united Muslim community. If we continue behaving as we are then we can't really expect things to improve.

May Allah reward this brother. I have had this conversation about Galloway with so many people. Yes he does produce the soundbites and has been steadfast on his voice for the Palestinians. Even the anecdotes this guy contrives stink of elitism. Imaginary, hour-long cab rides (during the course of which, he educates illiterate cab drivers unable to think for themselves). He wants to put himself across as a slick, data-driven operator but there has been nothing intelligent about the awful decisions his leadership has forced upon the campaign in Ilford. Well done to Dilly for making him blush by persisting with the 'Waitrose Muslim' label- a lot of truth in it. This man believes he has to steer the destiny of communities like Ilford who cant possibly organise themselves. The selfless activists in Ilford are enraged with this guy for seizing control of Leanne's campaign and completely ignoring their suggestions. Please dont be driven by emotion to fall into the arms of anyone you believe has the interests of Muslims at heart. In Jalal, I see a man ruthlessly pursuing personal ambitions
