If you watch the video, you'll see that the borrowers own the Grameen Bank. Regarding the interest charged, it takes money to lend money, and if the repayment rate is nearly 100%, the interest must not be prohibitive.

Dr. Professor Mohammad Yunus first gave the idea of social business, micro credit finance program under his Grameen Bank for the poor people of the village. When he was a professor of Chittagong University he began it first and this mission brought him success and he achieved Nobel Peace Prize as a first Bangladeshi citizen. He enlightened us and our country in front of the world. We are proud of him but some black-sheep of our country couldn't endure his fame, celebrity, renown and earnings. One of them is the envious and malignant woman so-called prime minister of Awoami Govt. of Bangladesh, She obstructed him, dishonored him, depressed him and insulted him in many ways. But all people of the world respect him and praise him.

Muhammad Yunus: "Do what is good!" The same principle has been used by Kazuo Inamori (Amoeba Management) in 1950's, which started a business revolution across the world under many other names ... The same principle is promoted by the Vanguard Method by John Seddon: identify failure demands, as you develop solutions you also grow the knowledge base/confidence, than you focus on the value demand, the purpose, outside-in measures ... The same principle seems to be used by the Theory of Constraints i.e. one continues to solve constraints until the only remaining constraint is the outside system. The same principle seems to be promoted by the Law of Attraction and Taoism: do what feels good! Actually, feel good first, then solve problems. If you want to start swimming, start with the backstroke i.e. initially, what you need most is air to breath, then as your body readjusts to new movements, you will discover many traumas in your body, just be gentle, they will pass, continue swimming ... And so on ... There is something spiritual that we seek/need in our lives ... As our physical bodies/society get free of hidden traumas, a fleeting sign of joy will appear, than another, then a smile, then a thought about singing, then some sounds (even under water) ... then you will start to feel flow (free of resistance/tension)... Do not rush or exaggerate, just keep doing what is good the normal way, the life will gently point you in the right direction ... Explore it, stay aware, pay attention, be curious, appreciative ... then? Who knows!

Well... I'm usually very skeptical about all sparkling Nobel awarded stuff... How did he escaped the loan sharks? Over here in Brazil there are lots of loan sharks. They are not the kindest type of person. (Not to mention Dr. House and X-Files: ppl lie but I want to blv).

The concept and existence of social business is fantastic, the need for mission-driven enterprises is paramount. Prof. Yunus explains it with passion. But the last question from the kid is profound and true: not all people can be entrepreneurs, some would be working for the owner, otherwise we won't have governments/ service workers, soldiers, nurses, doctors, engineers, cleaners, etc. Hard to speak in absolutes. No such thing as one size fits all. Nevertheless, it would be good that businesses transition to doing social good at some point of their life cycle.

We don't need a new capitalism. We need to return to the old capitalism, in which the losses aren't socialized, aka crony capitalism. You fail, you go out of business.

It surely had some major impact on the issue....There are some good research on his claim has been done and data seems like he is actually right, moreover Dr. Yunus is not a person of rethoric, if he says something that means he has data to back it up.
