Important things to note: - you run relic of the dh, so you do 10%more damage to enemies that trigger your traps (as indicated above the head of the target), so you always want to stagger your traps and tie your big dps skills to the trap casts - the guides use f2 and f3 not only because they might do damage themselves, but because you get another 10% more damage for some seconds after activating a virtue - you can replace the gm trait in dragon hunter by heavy light which gives you flat more dps against defiant and disabled foes while also giving you stab whenever you disable an enemy. With that trait you don't need to cast f1 in your rotation, but you could use it on demand while losing very little dps (it was in fact meta until not too long ago) - yes, dh virtues are pretty strong. Your f2 actually also heals allies around the area of impact, not only yourself. Your f3 is even better than aegis since it blocks multiple attacks for your entire group as long as they stand within the shield animation (same as the photon wall on holo)

Another important thing to note, I guess for people who still don't know or haven't decide which build (between radiance and virtues) to choose: - Virtues will hit a more than radiance build, but the difference is that virtues need aegis uptime for your burst window and radiance need resolution for the burst window. Most people who still learn or pug most of the time will run radiance due to the difficulty to maintain aegis while radiance (imo) still good with or without resolution. - Another difference is the gear, virtues will run mix berserker and mostly assassin stat like Muk did and radiance can run berserker armor and weapon + dragon trinkets or just full berserker gear which is easier to get and full berserker can also be used in some other classes/builds.

Virtues DH not having aegis makes it loose only 7% additional dmg, because the other 7% is tied to being above 90% hp, while as radiance DH not having resolution, which you can't have 100% uptime by yourself without loosing a dmg utility spell, you are loosing 25% crit chance, which is bigger loss imo. Also radiance has one dmg boost in Retribution (10% more dmg, which again is tied to having resolution), some ferocity(150) with Radiant Power, F1 reset on kill (This one is good) and resolution on heal skill. Radiance DH is absolutely screwed without this boon. At the same time Virtues, besides Unscathed Contender, has dmg boosts: Inspired Virtue (1% dmg boost for every boon on you,), Inspiring Virtue (10% dmg boost for 6 seconds after using a virtue), and utility: Indomitable Courage (ads AoE stunbreak and Stability to F3, also shorter interval for F3 passive), Power of the Virtuous (15% cooldown reduction for your Virtues). I had been pondering really long if I should change my Berserker gear for Assassin's and I did eventually and it was good decision. But also important note, in my opinion Radiance is by far superior for solo open world, because it's great at generating it's own boons such as Might and Fury, so if you want to have one kit for instanced content and open world Radiance and Berserker gear might be your fit. For purely instanced content Virtues all the way.

It's implied in the name. Weaver: Worse than everything. The concept itself is bad and badly implemented. Actually good woulda been (as mighty teapot said) make the Elementalist choose only 2 Elements and empower those 10 skills. Adding on, make synergy with the respective utility.

When I heard a Dev likes to play Elementalist, it reminded me of New World Devs that *like* the combat as it is, so they don't want to change it...and that's why it's the worst action combat of the genre. one of the best dps for pug runs, basically immortal, aoe stab, aoe block, insane cleave and pulls, skips + can take extra aoe aegis/stab if needed. on bad side - all 4 modifiers must be present to deal dmg and rotation can desync a lot if you are not fast.

Glad to see Dragonhunter still in a good spot. I took up firebrand when I got into tanking and was hard to want to go back, especially with the option of quickness too, but I still have many fond memories of DH with sooo much content. It was my first long term main spec! I will have to give it another go, though I will say longbow might take some getting used to. I do remember switching to firebrand around the time longbow was becoming the most popular weapon swap, and it felt strange to play for me, but I know there's been some changes since.

@@Eragon-wv5td Uff. Why so hostalie? First of all, in every video muk says that this is not a guide. It is a first impression of a class after playing it for the bare minimum. Of course he can not play weaver or dragonhunter. You need to invest a lot of time into a class before you can play it. And where is he wrong? Can Weaver give group stability? group stunbreak? aegis? No. DH can just do all this with 1 button while being full DPS. It's a simple fact. Of course eles also have a few self utility skills like Armor of Earth and he doesn't know that because he does not put the time into this class to properly learn it. He can learn if he wants to and currently he is mostly playing untamted because there he still has a lot of nice utility and still does a ton of dmg. Also it is correct that other classes do the same damage with less effort

I've used DH as my main build for years now, always been solid. Feels great to have all that utility and being able to jump in and save someone in a pinch with f2-f3. Yeah I can do QDPS Firebrand but it's a lot more intense for what it gives in DPS, I keep it for certain scenarios. Willbender's just a lot less fun than the rest tbh, even base class is more fun to me so I'm yet to make a proper build XD

I would note that on power builds, just going to 80% on the golem isnt always a good idea. At least a large chunk of power builds have insane burst at the start, and dps can dip more than 10k from 80% to 60% on the golem. Like vindi can reach more than 50k for the first 20%

Dh f3 continues to block attacks from your front until the shield animation finished in addition to the aegis

It also blocks attacks for allies. Dragonhunter F3 is cracked.

I really love DH, but there are more skills that are affected by moving enemies like your symbols, so that could cost you DPS as well in certain situations. The F2 skill is great, however, it can get interrupted mid flight and then it won't do the things that would happen at the end of the jump. Also you still take damage so if you use it to get a heal because you're low health you can still take damage during the animation and die before you get the heal/regeneration effect. You're definitely not invulnerable during the jump. Also F2 isn't just for yourself because it heals others as well if you slot the trait for healing. if you use Virtues it also gives a boon (regeneration) to allies upon landing and also cleanses conditions (if you slot that trait).

I seriously dont understand the balancing on ele classes. Like why are they so apm and rotation heavy, have little utility or cc AND dont do tons of dps compared to other classes to compensate. Its like anet wanted to intentionally design a CM for character classes for the masochist players out there.

Muk did cover a bit of this in the Weaver vid, if they buffed Ele too much, the really good players would be so far ahead of the rest of all the other classes and players, you could easily see LFG just being 'ele's only', which would suck. Muk can't cover every build, but if you do like Ele, I found Tempest to be fairly easy to grasp and do enough dmg etc to be fun.

I'm doing longbow/dual sword with my dragonhunter. It's a blast, I love it. More DPS than GS too, I know everyone loves their GS but that doesnt always mean its the best option.

With GS2 and LB5, you eventually get a feel for how much time you wait before performing the next skill. Love my Guardian and DH since day 1.

I may have missed it but I'm not sure you mentioned the relic. I've been playing it with Dragonhunter relic and I really love the feel of lining up your big burst with the bonus damage from traps. It's also why I've been loving power Untamed - the traps have pretty short cooldown so you can constantly get this feeling of a big spike in power. One time this is annoying, though, is on fights like Harvest Temple (maybe it's coded as a structure) where it can be hard to get the boss to trigger your traps.

Maybe you're placing your traps too early? Some bosses you can't pre-trap and have to place them once you can actually damage them, I've only had that issue on HT when I placed them too early too.

I Remember years ago Greatsword 2 would show the animation but do 0 dmg after a weaponswap. And it seemed that no one was talking about it 😂 This spec is frustraiting with moving bosses, the second the boss moves your dps goes to a grinding halt.. but fights like Adina/Mo/Sab ect its great! This was the first class I raided with, and tanking VG in the middle, I couldn't break 10k at the time.. might revisit in Assassins gear.

Recently got into learning Dragonhunter, so this is what I learned: Bane Signet is the biggest CC, but comes with a pretty big DPS loss until its back up, so it should be treated as last resort.

I play hammer AA DH and it has about the same DPS. Obviously only on stationary targets, but for IBS strikes it is very good.

While being a fun build, DH suffers from a few issues imo: 1) Skills that lock you in place and get easily cancelled (LB 3 + 5, GS 4) 2) Cast bars dont match animations (you pointed that out for GS2) 3) Low self-sufficiency in terms of offensive boons. This is more of a problem in open world gameplay. Playing it without quickness feels really awful, especially due to the animation issues. 4) Reliance on hitbox size. A large hitbox actually adds a ton of damage to DH due to the projectiles from GS2 hitting when you stand inside it. On a small one, projectiles usually miss the enemy and fly off in random directions.

Have played DH as my main since it released. Just always come back to it - something about it just works nicely on OCE lag. The burst feels so nice if you line it all up. But definitely true on non-stationary bosses, your DPS really falls off hard where the oppo boss wants to get in their morning jog. Don't take it so Twin Lagos as those two just zip in and out of my traps so often, you just get sad. DIrt easy spec though - great for beginners imo.

Another bug I've noticed is if I jump into battle with say the GS 3 skill, if I immediately do 2, sometimes I do the animation but absolutely nothing is getting hit. I don't know if it's a timing thing or a server lag thing, but it happens so many times to me, it's annoying.

I used to get that with GS2 after weaponswapping. The animation would show but 0 dmg.. I haven't noticed it with 3 though, might try that tomrrow!

@@traviscue2099 I'm not sure if 3 causes it. I'm guessing it's lag related. It happens a lot but I'm not 100% how to recreate it. All I know is sometimes the 2 animation and cooldown are triggered but not a single mob gets his sometimes.

About GS 2 I dont think it's a bug, or it's a bug with Ranger Longbow 5 too, the aoe rain of arrows, where you also have a cast bar, but tha animation of shooting upwards is much longer.

Since this has just dropped ... have you, or will release a tier list of dps ( later healer and tank ) classes in a single video clip? Great series, but finding out about only one at a time makes choosing your next toon/char to invest in kind of difficult.

An auto attack core guard or dh with hammer can hit 30-32k without the risk of rotation failure mid fight. Its probably time to consider simpler more efficient builds.

Thanks muk. I really tried to learn dragonhunter but couldn't do 30k dmg on golem without the food and utility buff. On other classes I can do that easily but on DH in can always go upto 26k~28k. I was kinda disappointed and dropped it. I really wanted it to work because I loved gurdian and it was my first profession I created on gw2. I also tried the redience build caz I thought in normal fight putting up constant agis is not possible but reasult was not much different. After watching ur video I am eaching to try again. Lets see. O and can u plz tell me what mod of Blish hud you use for raid timers. I really need it for Sebetha cannons caz I am directionally challenged in that fight.😂

I played ele at the start and all the consecutive nerfs to the class because of bad coding and players that can leverage it really well (being the statistical aberration they are) have made the base form and all the elite specs VERY unrewarding for new players to pick up.

The problem with that build is it requires 100% uptime on resolution, which is not a given. DH hammer is better for that reason.

ive been trying to tell this for years. ele utility as a whole is dogshit. which is funny as it is always presented as versatile. its always hyper optimized for one thing. healing and some boons or damage. and yes it does these 2 as well as other classes, and if you play insanely well, even a tiny bit better...in exchange you are squishy af and not beneficial for your team other than your role purpose. I'd love to get 1-2 permanently available "be useful" and "oh shit" buttons on ele. Would trade some max damage potential for it anytime.

@@Rongez ​ the " reward" that you get, is that "YOU GET GOOD" because you want to not die like a crippled player and you start paying attention to everything around you because almost anything can get you to low HP. If you look around, you will try to avoid reds, if you look around you might learn mechanics. And if you learn to play Ele, you will most likely not die in most encounters. Let me show you this: Conjured Amalgamate Boss// ELE ONLY // (W6 1st Boss) : "kzbin.info/www/bejne/forMkmirjrGlhJY" -> Log: "dps.report/F4hU-20221203-113021_ca" Compare with this other 2 Logs from random groups picked from wingman: Log 1 from 2022 almost same date like the Elementalis group : "gw2wingman.nevermindcreations.de/log/20221201-202432_ca_kill" Log 2 from May-2024 random group from wingman : "gw2wingman.nevermindcreations.de/log/e3810-20240527-195502_ca_kill" This is not my video, I found this video and this will show you some interesting facts if you analize the data: 1. Ele group is sending 2 Weaver DPS to pick up the Swords/Shields while the other 2 groups Log 1 and 2 send the healers or boon dps . For me the Ele group already won with this point, you are making the damn DPS do mechanics. 2. Boon Uptime: TOTAL Quickness uptime for 3 groups is around the same 94%. But if you look in detail Log 2 - Group 2 is Suffering with an 83% Quickness uptime, I'm not sure , BUUUUUT, wasn't quickness Harbringer easier to play and generate quickness? then Why are they suffering with that quickness uptime if they are not picking sword or shields?. 3. Alacrity uptime: They are about the same in 3 logs, but could be better in the Ele group. 4. UTILITY: You need Stability or Aegis to not get the Arm Slam. Who can provide 1 stack of Stability or Aegis? Call the mesmers, call the revs, call the guardians for Stand your ground, Genius, Heal Tempest can also give you aegis while blasting the might at the start of the fight with Aftershock. 5. Other Boon Uptime: Might Uptime: ELES = > 24.84 stacks over all . Log1 : 23.13 Overall. Log2: 19 Stacks Overall? Was not Heal scourge/ Quickness Harbringer/Scrapper easier to play? and still bring more " UTILITY" to the group? Wow so much utility that they doesn't use or doesn't know how to use. Protection Uptime: ELES => 100%. Log1: 90% uptime. Log2: 91% uptime. Wow you are helping alot guys. Regen Uptime: Almost best with 90% Vs Log2 92% / Log 1 76 %( 76% Total but with a Heal Firebrand giving 53% Uptime for his group, WOW, Heal firebrand so much UTILITY, SO MUCH BOON). @@Rongez Why I focus so much in the Uptime and boons? Because having all that, helps alot. And at the end of the video , Eles got a warrior monster and missed a shield , 2 went downstate. They recovered quite fast and yet got the kill. The other 2 groups also got downstates , 2 warriors players going downstate, and the Log2 have the harbringer quickness going downstate and the mechanist going downstate but in some cases because the support was going for the shield or the sword mechanic. Then you maybe will try to say " Conjured is not a hard boss, there aren't alot of mechanics", yes maybe, but let me tell you something, go find in youtube ELE ONLY, and you will find DHUM ELE ONLY no quickness, No alacrity, Qadim Wing6 Ele only, no portal bullshit, no pulls, and Yes, they got CC to break the Qadim bar. Qadim2 only ELEs, you want a tank? get catalyst tank, you want pylons? no problem staff pylon ele, you need Dps? you got weaver and Cata, and you know what? they are not even the best players, yet, they did all that. WITHOUT UTILITY? with that low CC? . The reality is : You are not good enough, you overcap utilities and don't use it then you expect you support to do everything, then you start focusing in ur crappy rotation and die because you are not looking around, just pressing 2 skills is not gameplay, but if you press everything and yet you don't know how to combine with your team? also isn't gameplay, I think you want to play Mobile games with autoplay.

I agree although I appreciate that the bow is at least viable so that RP players can use their Elite Spec weapon if the want to.
