@Kellethorn Жыл бұрын
Edit: A few big tips from a WvW vet for those who hate WvW: 1) The dailies can be extremely easy and often require zero contact with enemy players. 2) Look for the Caravan Killer and Camp Capturer as these are easy, and if both are up on the same day, you basically get a 2-for-1 3) The "Land Claimer" one sounds daunting but is literally the easiest one. All you have to do is kill a single NPC sentry on the map, and capture the ring. You don't need a guild and you don't need to claim a tower or keep or anything. Just capture the sentry point and you're done. 4) Honestly, avoid the Veteren Creature Slayer ones. These sound the most PvE-friendly, but they are on a relatively long cool down, are usually hard to get to, and they're cross-server spawns, meaning enemy groups will often be camping and waiting on the same spawn for their dailies. If you hate fighting people, this one is a trap. Alright, end *edit* I can't stress enough; legendaries in GW2 are MARATHONS, not sprints. Think of this as a multi-month long project you chip away at so you don't get burnt out. This is especially true if you've never crafted one before because there are DOZENS of story quests, achievements, and mastery points you must all do first (but only once per account) meaning your first legendary will take faaaaar longer than the rest. To put in perspective, it took me 6-9 months of consistent playing before I got my first legendary. It was gen 2 so, admittedly a lot harder than the others, but after that, I had my second legendary in a month, and my third in a few weeks. The first one really is a HUGE hurdle but if you can get past it, the ones after are MUCH easier because you will have already completed loads of once-per-account achievements required to craft them.

That is so correct. Armor collections are fairly easy and it will force you to get into raids, wich are also one of the easiest way to get ascended weapons or pieces of armor. It is cheaper too, a whole six pieces pack of armor costs about the same than a leggy weapon. An advice if you want it: Start with the legendary amulet (wich costs 0 gold) and save ALL the materials you get from it. I know you will want to sell them, but trust me, if you save them all in the bank you will have a much easier time doing armor later on, and it will save you a lot of gold. have a good time!

@@hectorgc1455 As someone who has all legendary trinkets, backpack and armor runes, sigils and almost all wepaons. I can clearly say you're fully correct. Getting armors and trinkets solves your main "gearing up" problem. Crafting backpack first is also quite improvement, all ways to obtain backpack either require some serious currency farming and there isn't much easy way to get them. Runes are okayish QoL improvement but not mandatory since you can change runes anytime if you have legendary armors. Sigils other hand should be basically last thing you should craft. When we comes to weapons it should be crafted after trinkets armors and preferably runes are done. Crafting some meta weapons ( like sword, axe, staff ) will give you real freedom but crafting 1 weapon requires lots of gold. Not easy to do.

for anyone that hasnt made a legendary yet, its definitely best to get trinkets and armor first for the quality of like trinkets can be used on every single one of your characters, and armor can be used on multiples as well, although you would need all 3 weights to use it on all characters. but still better than a weapon, which might only get used on one character if its not used in many builds. i would only suggest getting a weapon first if youre either really attached to the look/design of it, or if its a weapon you use in multiple builds across different characters.

Main tips for new players is that you do not NEED legendries. They have exactly the same stats as ascended gear/weapon. The only thing you get is looks and convenience of switching stats. You don't care about this in the beginning on your GW2 saga. This is end game stuff that costs ludicrous amount of money and takes weeks/months/years to obtain. Same goes for 32 slot bags. See 20 slot bags as "reasonably obtainable". 20slot will cost you ~10g on TP. 32 slot on the other hand will cost you almost 200g/bag! Not a prio for a new player an even most of the seasoned players. But when you have all in this game, tried different modes, have many alts and specializations - THEN it's time to look into those shiny legendaries and 32 slot bags.

There's no cheap way to get legendaries. It will cost you a lot ton of time and gold if you want to craft it yourself. A legendary weapon would take from a month to months depending on how much you grind for the weapon. If you don't want to get burnt out with your grind just do it casually while doing a thing at a time. Also don't grind thousands of gold to buy generation 1 or 3 legendaries. It costs few hundreds more than how much gold it would cost you from crafting unless you don't care about throwing some 💸💸. Don't do it on haste about getting a legendary since you don't need to worry about monthly subs. Lol
@abree1072 жыл бұрын
A lot of it depends on the player, their perspective, and their playtime. I know players that can crank out a legendary from scratch weekly or 1 every couple days if they have the starting capital. Then I also know someone who has spent a good 4 or so years working on 1 legendary and still isn't done. Relatively speaking though, 1k instead of 2k would be cheap by comparison, which is the sort of idea of the video. It's not ever going to truly be "cheap", it's one of the most end-game oriented goals for most players. People like the word cheap though.
@WhoArrrrghYou2 жыл бұрын
@@abree107 if you have the starting capital *and* the right equipment for a set of specs to play specific game modes that provide a lot of gold (like weekly raids + CMs), you can definitely make legendaries that fast. But this isn’t the typical casual player. The players that are able to craft legendaries that fast are usually already at the point where they have the gear they need (ascended or legendary) to play end game content (on diverse specs to be able to accommodate various group compositions) and they usually also have the kill proof to play such game modes with pugs. Casual players usually have trouble getting invited into pug groups for end game content because they lack these things. The average casual player also doesn’t have the luxury of being able to play such end game content regularly with a static group or with well organized runs from their guilds or experienced friends. All of these prerequisites are why I think there is no loophole for new players to craft a legendary faster than usual. TL;DR it might be easy for experienced end-game players with a fairly high starting capital to craft legendaries fast but casual players are not able to cut corners when crafting their first legendaries.
@abree1072 жыл бұрын
@@WhoArrrrghYou The first legendary I crafted to sell from a starting point of 50g or so took about 2 weeks and only involved open world for gold sources (and no it wasn't by putting in obscene playtime). The only difference now is that every single material required is cheaper, there's more ways to get them, and there's resources for people (mine or otherwise) on how to do it. If you were crafting a gen 2 then it'd be just a bit more effort and time than that. I understand what the perceived sentiment about crafting legendaries is, but perception and reality turn out to be quite different in this case. As I've said to a few people, the hardest part is deciding to actually do it. As for getting into content through LFG, I don't really have a solution for that. I can say I made all of my "from scratch" legendaries before doing a single raid and before starting to do high tier fractals, so it's not really necessary for that. With the way the game works and has worked for a while, LFG just isn't really a good way to get into those gamemodes. If you're willing to join voice chat and willing to learn a suitable build for the content you want to play, there's people out there willing to help you. In my experience, the people who complain of not being able to break into that content are either only looking at LFG and not guilds/discords, people finding inappropriate builds (*cough* Metabattle for anything but PvP/WvW), or people just downright refusing to put any thought into the process. To be clear, this isn't me flaming the people who get misinformation or choose a build without knowing it was made by someone with no clue what they're doing. I did the same thing. I was the power druid borderline griefing your tier 3 runs. I've got no shame in that. The process is not intuitive and that's on ArenaNet, but if someone genuinely wants to break into content and is only looking at LFG instead of doing a few Google searches, that's on them (and it was on me to finally figure out how to play something other than power druid). ESO has 3rd party resources to fix their lack of intuitive trading. OSRS has 3rd party resources to fix their lack of intuitive... almost everything. Guild Wars 2 has it for breaking into raids and fractals. Experiences may differ and I have no doubt some people have given it an honest look and not found what they were looking for, but a lot of solid resources are well established now. If anyone is reading this comment and needs direction to a good, positive training environment for new players, hit me up. legendaries aren’t the most difficult tbh, the current legendary im crafting (xiuquatl, gen 2) isnt too expensive. the crafting process is just so roundabout that ive spent more time figuring out how to get some of the mats than actually having to grind for them. As of now i just need 90 more spirit shards to craft it due to having to throw almost all spirit shards in the mystic shitter. It just took me about 4 ish weeks of actual in game Effort in total, i’m by no means an end game player. Great video! I got into crafting Legendary Gen 1 weapons early in my GW2 journey, because I was lucky and received two precursors within my first 6 to 12 months of playing. I got Zap, the sword precursor for Bolt from the Mystic Forge after throwing 3 random rare weapons plus a mystic stone into the Mystic Forge on my last try, since I did not have an even number of rare weapons, divisible by 4, so I used the stone. I had only tried a dozen or so rare weapons, just because I had heard about other players doing it. My 1st precursor, I had previously gotten as a loot drop, but I don't know when or where, because I did not even realize it was a precursor until days later. It was the Trident precursor with the eels on it. I crafted the Trident, but then sold it, so I could buy the precursor for Twilight, which at that time was almost 800 gold to purchase on the TP. Since those first two Gen 1 Legendary weapons, I have improved my gold making ability and knew which mats to save and which to sell, and the only thing that slows me down from crafting Legendary weapons now is getting the Gift of Battle in WvW, as I usually depend mostly on just doing a few dailies, and using the potions for track progress, so this can take me several weeks between each Gift of Battle, during which time I gather about half of the T6 mats I need, and get most of the rest by rolling for clovers in the Mystic Forge. I now have one Legendary of every weapon type, except the Mace, which I have already purchased the precursor for and should have it crafted within a few weeks after writing this. I also have two Incinerator daggers, for dual wielding, and plan to get a 2nd axe, pistol, sword, and mace, also for dual wielding. For some reason though, I have had a mental block keeping me from working on Legendary trinkets and back piece, but I have completed the 1st Legendary Raid armor collection, and started the 2nd collection, plus have collected all of the Provisioner Tokens I need to complete that armor, so I'm on my way toward completing my first set of Legendary armor and hope to also begin working on the WvW and PvP Legendary armor sets, so I'll have one of each armor weight. For me, crafting Legendary gear is the true end game for GW2.

Fractals (both dailies and farms) are really good for spirit shards if you have the Empowerments unlocked. Even if you don't they're still decent. You can buy Dessa Journals with spare relics for even more spirit shards. Living world season 4 trains are probably the best for open world farms if you have the empowerments there. Beyond that most other methods are pretty steady. There's a few janky spirit shard only farms people have made, farming ambient mobs for example, but I'd not recommend those as it's far more efficient to choose methods that provide liquid gold and spirit shards at the same time.

I always found getting legendary weapons/trinkets to be ultra frustrating and not really fun at all...by which I mean unpleasant.
@abree107 Жыл бұрын
I suppose it depends on the player, what they enjoy/don't, and how they decide to do it. If you're a PvE player and don't enjoy WvW for example, that gift of Battle can be really frustrating to get for your legendary. If you're in that position and trying to rush it, it will be very unfun. If you slow down a bit and just do some of the easy WvW dailies each day while you work on something else, then you can get it over time while you do everything else and that will keep you to mostly PvE oriented stuff. If you're trying to make many legendaries to bind or trying to sell them for a profit, doing that with no starting gold can be slow and frustrating. In that case, you can make it easier by getting some starting capital and then recycle it, spending only your profit and keeping that seed gold so you're never forced to start from scratch again. Of course, there might not be a way for you to enjoy it, but I do think most players can enjoy the process if they change how they do it to either take it more slowly or do it in a way that fits their playstyle.

Hey, let's make some legendary ! I started to play actively about a year ago and when I made the weapon for the first time, I made 2 Gen 3 in single sitting. Sold it and made 4 Gen 1 just to sell it again to make profit. Started with 500 gold and end up with around 7k gold in roughly 2 days. If you play this game a lot casually, I think this is the easiest way to make gold instead of farming. But it still come with few problems: Gift of Battle, mystic stone, dungeon and EOD currency, also mystic clover. These things gonna stop the cycle if you run out of it.

so daunting. How much do you save by crafting the legendaries versus just buying them from the trading post?
@abree1072 жыл бұрын
GW2Efficiency.com has a page for legendary crafting that shows the profit numbers in the right column in green. For Gen 1s it's currently like 500-750g profit and for gen 3s it's currently like 800-1000g profit if I recall? And that's with the seller incurring a 15% tax so the buyer would end up spending an additional 300g or so on gen 1s and 450g or so on gen 3s, on top of those profit ranges. And they very very very rarely fill on the buy order side. Once you craft a couple legendaries the process actually becomes surprisingly easy, which is why it's such a popular method in the gold making community.
@Tonino_O2 жыл бұрын
I recently crafted a legendary and using my own mats spent roughly like 750g but the same legendary was listed over 2k in the tp.. it's a massive difference

@@Tonino_O Oh wow. Do you mind telling me which legendary that was? I thought making a legendary would cost like 3-4k
@abree1072 жыл бұрын
@@Adam-qz9ec For weapons, gen 1 craft costs are currently in the 850-1100g range. Gen 2 craft costs are around 1500-1700g. And gen 3s are about 1500-1550g. And that's just buy ordering all the tradeable materials and throwing it together. It doesn't include any of the tips in this video for saving gold by getting some of the materials yourself. You have to remember, the sellers of legendary weapons on the TP only receive 85% of the face value after taxes and they still make big profit margins after that. A lot of the "value" is associated with acquiring account bound materials like gift of Battle, exploration, spirit shards, obsidian shards, etc. This is why legendary crafting is a popular method in the gold making community. You can sort of think of it like a structured but diversified farm that doesn't pay you until the end of the whole process. But when you get paid, you get PAID. Efficient legendary crafters can expect to make 50g/hr for their whole process, give or take a bit, once their weapon sells. A lot of them are considerably less efficient, but I think most players would agree that 40g/hr or even 30g/hr is a pretty solid rate to farm gold with a repeatable and diverse method.

I'd much rather gather gold over time and buy one off the Trading Post.
@abree1072 жыл бұрын
If you hold onto your materials, you might open the crafting calculator at some point in the future and find that you have 90% of the stuff you need already and then it won't seem like such a big deal to craft it. It's also definitely one of those things where it gets much much easier after the first couple times. The only super killer thing that you should avoid doing is dumping all your raw materials on the TP and then instabuying a legendary with that gold. It'll end up costing a good 20-25% more doing that vs. hoarding materials and buying a legendary p2p using stuff like ectos or t6 materials. Even just thinking ahead a little bit like that will at least give you a much better price if you choose to buy one.

Lots of different gold making methods. Most of it is made up between flipping, player to player trading, farming, crafting, and grinding out fractal god. Now that I'm more focused on the videos and real-life stuff, most of the liquid gold on my account sits on the side line. It takes a lot of effort to move that much gold and even more effort to move it into items and processes that are profitable enough to be worth doing. Quite frankly, I'm lazy and haven't leveraged all of my liquid gold into making more gold since I hit 20k or so and that was ages ago. Over time, I've carefully liquidated most of my materials and items into raw gold using very efficient methods. I've always been more TP focused than most other gold makers so it was a bit easier for me to do than it probably would be for others. I actually got really close to 150k while editing this video, but found an opportunity I liked and ran myself down to 144k again. The raw gold makes for good shock value in videos, but it can't really earn any returns when it's sitting in my wallet. Liquid gold is a much better metric of gold-making performance. Probably a bit more rambling than your question called for...

@abree1072 жыл бұрын
I don't know about how you'd fare in groups and how people react, but you can absolutely play it like a PvE gamemode, try and avoid players, and get everything you need from doing that. You will have to accept the occasional death if someone catches you, but you don't need to kill other players to get rewards from the gamemode. The vast majority of the rewards come from keeping participation up, which you could do a number of ways, but I really recommend flipping camps. Again, if you don't mind waiting a while, doing 1-3 WvW dailies will also get you a gift of battle.
@Mythic002 жыл бұрын
My experience, as someone not great at pvp and not much interested, is that if you see a commander leading a blob around it's pretty easy to tag along. When you've got 30+ players you don't have to be very good and people aren't going to notice. I only see people getting booted from a squad when they do things like leave the map without leaving the squad. It probably helps to be ranged. But basically you don't have to do a lot to contribute. If you can do some damage when running into other players, carry supplies for siege building, provide healing, provide boons, provide missile blocking, you're contributing. (Though the game mostly only gives you participation credit for tagging players who get killed or capturing objectives.) Basically in addition to what Abree said, it's pretty easy to tag along with groups. If the group has a high standard they're going to be a private squad you can't join.

lol. 300g+ for a precursor isn't cheap, which defeated the purpose of this video. However, there is a way to get precursor for cheap (for real) by doing the Collection Achievements -- most gold you're going to spend is about 3g-5g.
@abree1072 жыл бұрын
You can check on GW2Efficiency.com, most gen 1 precursors are a loss to craft through the collections. They require a large number of ascended materials to craft. Even the ones that DO save gold to craft aren't worth it time-wise unless you're an achievement hunter; 40g savings is not worth a full day of running around and doing the collection tasks. One thing is for certain, if you're only "spending" 5g on a precursor then you're not valuing any of your materials (or your time for that matter) and that's simply not correct. Your materials have value and your time has value, both of which are non-zero. The precursors are 1 spot that is very difficult to save gold on and I also did use a more expensive example in the video; most other precursors will be cheaper than that one.
@EnzoVinZ2 жыл бұрын
@@abree107 I said cheap in terms of gold. I agree, my time has value and if I factored that in, I won't waste it playing video games, instead I'd be working -- so that's never a factor. @@lordflunder It's currently the best use to get gold value out of laurels and if you're using the materials yourself instead of dumping them on the trading post, that's even better. The laurels come in slowly, but most veterans have a handful.

What ever happened to killing a boss and boss dropping legendary item? Loot should come from playing the game, not clicking through menus 3,000 times.

im so annoyed i have to play wvw to get my stupid legendary

Definitely understandable. Usually, doing dailies in WvW or flipping camps can reduce the amount of actual player interaction you have to deal with, making it easier to stomach as someone that doesn't enjoy WvW.

This guys precursors is not selling in tp
@abree1072 жыл бұрын
This would be quite the length to go to for that. I don't forge, so I've not got any precursors to sell. Precursors are also just generally better to sell player-to-player as opposed to the in-game trading post. A while back, I did flip underwater pres on the TP, but your risk is much lower with those as the price is only 30 or 40 gold per item. Anyways, I've currently only got 2 gold-making things I'm doing on my account and neither of them have to do with the stuff covered in this video. Everything else, I've pretty much stopped doing because this channel takes up most of my free time I can allocate to Guild Wars 2.

I just saw 77 mystic clovers and I was already out, you need so much gold to make these shit, I alrady give up lol.

If that's your hold-up, I'd advise just waiting a couple months, letting everything build up in your material storage, and then checking back in. If you connect your account on GW2Efficiency you can put the legendary you want into the crafting calculator and select the "use owned materials" option to find out the value of what you're missing. It might surprise you how much you will passively accumulate. The first legendary is always the hardest and it gets easier with every single one you make.

Lol too complicated and time/resource consuming. For people like me that don't care about aesthetics, it just makes sense to have ascended gear to fit my builds.
@abree107 Жыл бұрын
I still use ascended gear myself! Nothing wrong with that if it works for you!
@Soul_Wizard_Of_Lemuria Жыл бұрын
if you total the cost in making 1 legendary weapon, you can prob craft 50 ascended weapons. i also dont have legendary weapon but I have the leg amulet and backpack.

@Vebzzz You'll never see me say that you need legendaries. I only have a couple myself, despite gold being no object at this point. This was foremost a gold-making guide, but I knew a lot of players that wanted to equip legendaries would also find it, so I gave it a bit of a reformat to suit both purposes.
