Hey guys! So this video is my character analysis for Mukuro Ikusaba. And I apologize for the later upload, I had a TON of problems with my wifi last night because of a storm in my area so I had to postpone this video a bit. But anyways, I hope you guys enjoy!

Sootythunder You should read hunterofcomedy's Never Say Never. You would not believe the love Mukuro gets from the author. It's much pretty IF verse, except it follows as the original game but presents Mukuro defying junko in a different way. The murders are non successful and those who originally died are desperately trying to amend their sins. It's a thrill to read.

I think only one she couldnt beat would be izuru, sakura doesnt use weapons but her combat skills are superhuman (she probably can dodge even bullets). Third one she couldnt probably beat would be Maki from v3, they are quite similar both know everything about weapons and combat and are killing machines. I would love to see them fight, ultimate soldier vs ultimate assassin.

I was actually disappointed on how she was portrayed in the anime... she was just shown as a siscon masochist, tbh I really preferred how she acted on her own will at IF, she was never actually brainwashed, so why the heck does she like getting hurt by her sister..? (Note: she never got wounded in battles, but by her sibling I guess.. )

Kyubey Incubator she's definitely a siscon, and I think her taking the abuse is from that, and her low self-esteem, rather than being a masochist. The anime did have portrayal problems I agree, and maybe they went too far with the siscon thing, but that definitely was already a part of her personality

i think it’s because junko hurting the person she was in love with made her question how to interact with junko. in IF she still does act submissive to junko in some moments which was kept in danganronpa 3. i think its much more used in danganronpa 3 because its just how their relationship usually is

@@lumaelodie I think the disconnect felt between her IF and DR3 versions comes from how oddly sexualized her actions seem in DR3? Like, in both stories she's being abused and talked down to by her sister, but whereas in IF she takes the pain because she believes so firmly in her goal (to help Junko), in DR3 it feels like she has some weird incest vibes with Junko. It's at least borderline masochistic, and while there's nothing wrong with that, it doesn't conform with what she's portrayed as in pretty much every other Danganronpa story. It's more like Mikan, Miu or Toko than anything like Mukuro. I sort of pictured Mukuro acting more open with Junko, but defaulting to a still-aloof personality, like a personal bodyguard or samurai or something of the sort. Not... whatever it is they're doing in DR3. But then again, that's just me. If we had more Mukuro in general, we'd get a concrete answer as to what she's really like.

You know what would be cool, if we learn more about Mukuro's time with Fenrir; I think there's some good stories there. I just think it would be a great way to learn more her character and have some good action in it as well. Maybe it would turn out that she had some comrades in the group that were around her own age and later some of them would join the group Ultimate Despair for their own reasons. How about doing a video on Sonia in the future and expand that to talk about her country and how the cultural gap might had allowed Junko to corrupt her.

Like, Mukuro is actually one of my favorite characters. And that might comes as quite a shock seeming as most of my comments every video is just me spouting out how much I love Mikan. But I think she is a really good character mainly for the Naegi X Mukuro thing that goes on. With her staring at Naegi in all the pictures and in her free time events she says "You need an aggressive girl who will go after her, I know a girl!" she is basically setting herself up with Naegi. It's great

Honestly I was really interested in Mukuro from playing the games and reading IF, it gave me a picture of someone who was reluctant to do the things she did but didn't know better being corrupted by Junko and her manipulation. Sydney Long It’s a matter of perspective. In Despair Arc, we are seeing her as class 77 would see her-an enigmatic and ruthless enemy who has undying loyalty for someone who’s looking to destroy everything and everyone they hold dear. The only times we see her in 3 are when she’s by Junko’s side, and we already know she’s been abusing and manipulating her from a very young age. From class 78’s perspective, and specifically Makoto’s perspective, she is a somewhat intimidating, enigmatic, but also shy, troubled, and ultimately very caring young woman. In fact, the creators originally wanted to include scenes depicting class 78 and Mukuro’s interactions with them-Makoto especially-but had to forgo them due to time and budget constraints. This is why we need an anime movie adaptation of IF. And an OVA containing said scenes.

I see Junko and Mukuro's relationship akin to Griffith and Guts from _Berserk_ since both Junko and Griffith view their subordinate as just a pawn to further their own goals but latter can put on a front that their pawns are appreciated while the former won't. Sadly Mukuro never had her Casca (Makoto) make her realize she could be more than a weapon.

Junko living on the streets kinda contradicts her backstory from DanganRonpa/Zero and the fact she had a whole family capable of affording a 4-people trip to Europe. If you pay closer attention to the "living on the streets" dialogue, it is easy to see that this was a metaphor to the battlefield. To me, the most notable thing about her personality is that she is blindly obedient. It fits her greatly because that's what soldiers are taught to be. Unfortunately for her, Junko is not that interested in people who don't challenge her. I couldn't fit the rest of my comment here, so I'm replying soon. I didn't even know KZbin comments had a character limit.

bout the name trivia, the Wikia is wrong about Ikusaba meaning "battlefield". It can be that if written kanji, but the kanji used by game is strictly "war blade". Mukuro, on other hand, is open to a larger variety of translations, including my personal favorite "halberd-black". Halberds are a type of spear, just like the weapon that killed her, but that's not my reason for liking this translation so much. See, Junko means "shield girl" and the word "contradiction"(mujun) is composed by the kanjis for halberd and shield (research "the tale of the strongest halberd and the strongest shield" or play the first Ace Attorney game for more details on this one). If you the twins' names together like that, you can get the word "contradiction", which is really meaningful for both of them, specially Junko.

Funny, I just realized something. Odin pierced himself with the Gugnir spear and rested upon the World Tree Yggdrasil for 9 nights and 9 days, after which he awoke, and had gained all the knowledge of the world. True, this certainly wouldn't apply to Mukuro, however the fact that she does come back (or rather her corpse), does make me think that this was meant to be something of a hint of what was to happen.

I think that you should include DG Zero into Mukuro's analysis, in Zero is where most personality about Mukuro and her relationship and feelings towards Junko really shows. As well as her other relationship she has with her classmates *Mainly Naegi and Kirigiri*

I think peko would be very interesting to examine , especially with how the second game plays out Spoilers for DR2: when she takes the place of fuyuhiko as the killer in trial two does anyone else find it interesting that she does this, remember fuyuhiko kills miss sato by bulge ing her with a baseball bat, and from what we know of their relationship peko was like fuyuhiko's shadow so it's highly possible that she witnessed this murder and then helped to cover things up so fuyuhiko wouldn't be arrested. Then it's even more likely that she witnessed him crumbling into despair and junko used the fact that she thought herself a tool to him to drive peko to do her bidding . Now with all this in mind , I can't be the only one who then found peko's actions in the second trial to be even more heartbreaking but also had to be more then a coincidence. She not only stopped him from not only committing murder but also in a sense repeating an action he had committed in the past with memory loss!
