The Hairy Whatsit of Walla Walla - Walla Walla is in a part of eastern Australia famous for its Yowie sightings, the local version of Bigfoot. In fact a group of loggers claimed to have found the body of one at Walla Walla in the 1870's. The level of detail Darin Morgan throws into his scripts is amazing (although the Amarillo Armadillo Man is made-up lol)

Funny scene but totally not my favourite since things that he said here kinda contradict every supernatural/paranormal entities or phenomenas that he have encountered in the past. Probably why I dont want to consider Season 10 and 11 to be canon, it's not bad but it's seem they have forgot all things that Mulder have been through in the past that supposed to strength his believe more.
@windtalker5823 жыл бұрын
The problem is that Mulder doesn't have good proof or evidence of anything he's been through in the past, and as given in this scene many of his previous cases that he believed in were proven to have a realistic or hoax explanation. Mulder is now middle age, doesn't have much to show for his past work, and he's not as naive or ignorant as in his younger years. It makes sense that he's doubting his beliefs. That it's possible his past experiences which at one time strengthen his belief of the paranormal was because of misunderstandings or lacking knowledge.

I think this episode should be viewed with the mindset that it is a one off and not a myth arc episode, as while it does contradict earlier episodes the themes it explores are top notch. Mulder is complaining about how mundane the world has become after realizing so much of the supposedly paranormal are explainable or just hoaxes - that he lives in a world without monsters, so to speak - but then later the Lizardman points out that Humans are sort of this weird paranormal monster in and of themselves. It is in line with the earlier episode 'Jose Chung's From Outer Space', where people use the paranormal as a means to escape their own loneliness. So it's a meta episode, in a way.

You seem to fail to remember that Mulder made motive of the unexplained is tied to his sister disappearance. "He wants to believe". But as the series ended he simply let her sister go. His made drive is gone.
@veronicaaccouche1478 Жыл бұрын
@@dantran9962 I hated the 'Closure' explanation. I'd rather she had been abducted by humans and lost her memory. His family and Scully had been through enough. It was a lazy way to end his sister's story; as you said he lost his drive but he did see aliens and come on Eugene Tombs, Robert Modell aka Pusher Dr. Chester Ray Banton in Soft Light, in 'Foile a Deux' Gary Lambert, is convinced that his boss Greg Pincus is literally an insectoid monster who no one else can see for what he really. He and Scully both saw it. Lenard Betts wasn't exactly normal.

@@knightwind5967 Season 11 is great, has some of the best episodes of the entire series. Season 10 is not that great but is soft retconed by the first episode of season 11, so no big deal.

Not a great season, but I kinda like this scene. Would be great to have a satisfying end to Mulder's search. Imagine a sequel to Fight The Future but with a nice, competent script and good directing. There is always potential
