I didn't say "never" but I knew him from The Shannara Chronicles and just didn't see Elvis in him. Then I saw him with black hair my opinion began to change. After that, I saw the film and it blew me away; there were times where I almost forgot I was watching a movie, it almost felt like I was watching Elvis himself.

Such an incredible performance. Austin literally channeled Elvis- he didn’t do an impersonation or an impression of Elvis, he embodied Elvis’s spirit. That is why the Presley family was so moved by him. And you can feel how palpable it is when you watch him. I feel that Austin really honoured Elvis and they whole cast was a fantastic support too. Bravo. I was so moved my this film.

My mother is a HUGE Elvis fan. Growing up, all I knew was Elvis. We’ve even visited all the places Elvis grew up and lived-even the projects. So I definitely was super critical and skeptical going in to watch this film, but let me tell you, I was truly blown away by Austin’s performance. He did an absolutely incredible, outstanding job! I have watched this movie so many times I have lost count. Grew up with Elvis and his portrayal is astonishing. At times you can swear you are watching Elvis. The one scene that completely transfixes me is when he does Polk Salad Annie, his moves are totally Elvis. This is an Oscar performance if there ever was one. I love Elvis and that beautiful voice as much today as I did growing up. There will never be another and so sad his life went the way it did. He was used by so many people.
