Exactly. He's the best -- that's why he's so adamant that the dinos are absolutely too dangerous to exist. Him surviving would just undermine his point *and* the fact that the raptors outplayed the most competent character in the story.
@TheCrabLord_8 ай бұрын
I like the thought that the reason he said clever girl was because in all of the time he spent raising them they had never successfully "hunted" him, he always caught what they were doing before they could catch him (like a game). So that is also why she poked her head out right beside him and makes a sound rather than just springing out like an actual hunter would do, they wouldn't let their prey know they are there before attacking, especially with how intelligent they are supposed to be. So it is almost like she was saying "Ha Dad, I actually caught you this time!" by poking her head out at him and making it clear she was there. And because they had never successfully hunted him before he screamed when she pounced him, not knowing if she was going in for a kill or not. But in the end she was only playing with him (not that it looks that way to the viewers lol). Could also be why he recognised so quickly that he and Ellie were being hunted by them, he had experienced it before. But because Ellie had no experience with them made her go ahead as he was confident in his hunting ability and the fact he knew their game so well, but also because they may be far more swift and violent with a stranger involved.

There's a fanfic out there called "Muldoon", where Robert Muldoon survives the raptor attack - albeit grievously wounded - due to the Big One being called away by her pack mates to help them at the visitor center. He eventually makes his way to the Visitor Center and frees the raptor trapped in the kitchen, which ironically forms a bond with him (and whom he later names Priscilla). It's currently on hiatus, but it's very well-written, and I could see it actually happening. Also, if only Bob Peck were still with us! He could've returned in Dominion with the rest of the cast and had a scene with Owen comparing raising raptors. The deleted scene in LWJP, I think could be considered confirmation enough. I doubt the scene was deleted for inaccuracy, but it increased runtime, and was well enough summarized between Peter Ludlow and Ian Malcom at John Hammond’s estate. The “deaths of three people”, mentioned by Malcom must have included Robert Muldoon, as the death of the gate keeper whom died in the Raptor crate. The coinciding case was being processed before Ian Malcom and the others made it to the island,and has well been closed before the board meeting in the deleted scene.

I'm very skeptical about Muldoon's survival, but I did notice something regarding the theory that the raptor is playing with him: the raptor didn't immediately jump on Muldoon and start biting/slashing him. It peeked through the vegetation first, making itself very visible, almost like it was playfully saying, "haha, found you!" In nature, ambush predators don't behave that way. They attack their prey and go for the kill as soon as they get in range. Granted, it was almost certainly a theatrical choice for dramatic effect to allow Muldoon to say the famous line before getting attacked, but it's fun to speculate nonetheless.

I have a huge memorabilia collection, converted my wrangler to a JP Jeep, and I even teach the movie and break down scenes in my Video Production class. As much as I love the character Muldoon- He’s dead. It hurts to say, but he’s dead. The whole point of his scene was that he thought he was smarter than the animals. And Grant foreshadows how raptors attack “not from the front, but from the side” earlier in the movie the dig site scaring the kid. The whole point of his death was how no matter how smart and experienced you are, science in a way beat man. “Life, (or death in this case) found a way.”

Muldoon makes it clear that if it were up to him, he would kill every last one of them when he shows the visitors the Velociraptors' cage. Knowing that in addition, he threatens one of the three raptors with his shotgun, which clearly does not please the ''clever girl''. As for the blood, I think he was simply grabbed by the throat or the head (image) to get it broken like Udesky. So, I think there will simply be another group like Jurassic Park: The Game

The one thing that always bugged me about Muldoon's "death" was that the raptors outflanked him despite what I assumed was expert knowledge of how the creatures behaved. Grant lays out their whole attack pattern right there at the beginning of the movie, and surely Muldoon would know even more about raptor behavior at that point. It just seems so unlikely that he would fixate so much on the one in front of him to the exclusion of knowing one was right there, just inches to his left. Even more baffling is the "clevah guril" quip just before he's pounced upon. Was he genuinely unaware of how raptors hunt? Was this just bad writing? Was this scene written for another character who was hastily swapped out with Muldoon? The whole scene has confused me ever since I was old enough to understand the movie. A couple of IT nerds (sorry Jackson!) and a lawyer bite the dust - totally believable - but 2 pre-adolescent children, 2 doctors who play in the dirt, an old man with a limp, and a philosopher (who was most assuredly somewhere "on the spectrum") all survive but the legitimate big game hunter with weapons and first hand dinosaur experience is outsmarted by one of the animals he's been studying first hand? Some sort of studio politics had to be going on for this "death" to occur.

I like to believe that Muldoon "knew" if he and the crew were to escape the island the raptors would need to be stopped. The owner picked up a ball and the puppy, with big jaws and puppy teeth, went 'OH YEAH A BALL' and grabbed ball and hand at once and sliced him to the bone. (Not an isolated incident as that was far from teh only scar - kiddo was severely undersocialised as a pup and this was never corrected, so he tried to disembowel me or remove my hand several times today for the crime of brushing him or cutting out a knot behind his ear, but hey, muzzles exist, so he only bruised me.) Point being - yep, teeth and strong jaws plus play, PLUS (very relevant here for dinosaurs without the socialisation of real parents) lack of bite inhibition learned from parents and siblings... that play could very quickly become fatal even if the dinosaur was just meaning to play.

This is unconfirmed, however, and should be taken with a grain of salt. That being said, I do not want them to bring Muldoon back. We have a propensity to now bring back characters that died in earlier movies (Brent Spiner in Independence Day Resurgence, for example), and it honestly really just kills the idea that characters can die, and gives them an unholy level of plot armor these days. Furthermore, I would not want a recasting of Bob Peck, as I just don't think anyone else would do him justice, and I don't like deep fakes. So I am hoping that Muldoon stays dead for the sake of the story and respect to the actor who played him.

For the record, we never saw what happened to him - just one raptor pushing him down and then the other watching. For all we know, they started to finish him off and then ran away cuz the T-Rex roared nearby.

Denis was became a meatball for dinos i believe! But muldoon's supposed death scene was even for me really quick and had my thoughts for what actually happened to him! That's a really informative video about this character on the franchise thanks mate!

I can remember seeing his death as a kid. The set up, the music, the stillness before the pounce and him screaming bloody murder. (That's a scream even to today rings vividly if I think about too much. Oh my god did it ever disturb me. I just knew he was dead. But it's cool if the writers bring him back. Obviously recasted bc RIP Mr. Peck.

Would love for this to be true. Even followed the comics where his blood brother saved his life last minute. I think we're looking at quite a stretch here. Muldoon is not coming back.

Ok, might also consider this as to how he survived: Experienced hunter.... WOULD ABSOLUTELY HAVE SOME KIND OF IDEAL BACK UP IN THE EVENT OF BEING PINNED. Its very clear that the raptor went teeth first not claw first. Give muldoon a knife in the boot. Nastly stab to the underbelly of the raptor. Possibly break away with ease. "What about the second raptor?" Either ran away when the first was injuried... or assuming he got the first one off... the spas 12 stock was deployed and had the hook (which means he could comfortably fire it with one hand)... weird technical detail but if a couple rounds of buckshot went by me I'd eff off in the other direction, I'd imagine a raptor would be bright enough to reconsider a fight

That at least had some basis in previous lore with clones and his spirit taking over clones but Muldoon had nothing to fall back on.
@allenkeith71608 ай бұрын
I totally believe that. Especially, in the chaos of the attacks... Why wouldn't there potentially be potential survivors that got trapped on the island, and missed the evacuation? It just makes sense to me, especially in areas of the attacks where they would get trapped in buildings and things and unable to leave.

Incredible video, absolutely incredible! Love this content. Muldoon played by Bob Peck is such a gem in the original Jurassic Park movie, the way he delivers his lines, his seriousness when nobody else seems to truly understand that these creatures are not only to be respected but feared is fascinating to watch "QUIET, all of you... they're entering the Tyrannorsaur paddock". I love your theory that the Raptor was just playing with him, and although seems unlikely for the Jurassic World movie, it seems perfect for the game. I hope they listen to the fans and see videos like this and see how much we want Bob Peck's Muldoon back in the Jurassic World cannon! Thanks for the video look forward to more like this, until then.... Hold onto your butts.

To be perfectly honest. I think Muldoons death in the movie is honestly for the best. Why? Because it also shows that the situation is genuinely out of hand. The expert the head of security couldnt control the situation. Just plays out better that way in the movie.

Welcome back, Shadows! Missed you! I do hope you're feeling better! I do believe that Robert Muldoon is alive and may return in future Jurassic movies...and could we see him in Chaos Theory!? I hope so! Absolutely epic video today! Loved it! Keep up the great work! You're the best! Edit: Can you please do a video about the possible shocking return of Cathy Bowman?

I've notice each subsequent film seems to "barrow" an event that happened in the original novel like the whole trek through the jungle in the second film but during that journey in the original novel Hammond falls and is attacked by the "Compy", in the original novel it's Grant & the kids chased by the Pterodactyls which they escape by getting in rafts but that scene is the third movie. Malcolm's injury was FAR more gruesome too, it's implied Malcolm was on death's door when the helicopter came to save them but his popularity in THE MOVIE is why Malcolm made such an amazing recovery.

Muldoon is dead. A deleted scene from The Lost World: Jurassic Park confirmed it when Peter Ludlow was addressing wrongful death lawsuits to the Ingen board.

This just doesn’t make sense. It seems more of hopeful wishing than anything else. The raptors in the first movie were as animalistic and dangerous in the entire series. Especially with how the Big One ran the pack. Only the strongest survived. Muldoon was hunting the raptors, and the raptors most certainly would have finished him off. There is absolutely no reason to believe they were “playing” with Muldoon. He had a badass exit from the series and that scene is iconic! Leave it alone

According to Lego Jurassic World he survives with Nerdy and Gennaro and they live together in the old visitors center. I read the book in anticipation of the movie and was absolutely heartbroken when he died in the movie because he was my favorite character. Then my dad got me the comics and I was so happy he was alive lol. Now I watch these movies with my young nephews.

Honestly, Muldoon surviving wouldn't be any wackier than anything we got in Dominion sooo why not? At least it's a returning character and not a super genius scientist that no one ever heard of even though she did all this awesome cool science stuff 25 years ago.

i really liked him honestly. muldoon and eric kirby are my favorite characters of the whole series. to me kirby is the best because he survived alone on a dinosaur infested island. eric is more impressive to me because he had zero experience at all and managed for 6 months. i liked muldoon because he was a realist and respected the raptors as truly dangerous and intelligent creatures. his dialogue with alan in front of the raptor cage in the movie was so good. it really created a moment of awe and simultaneously portraying a horrifying gravitas.

So the raptor was just "playing" with him, I guess he made those horrible screams of agony because it was licking his face off.
