Dental work is very important for the mule and donkey. Many problems are corrected by floating the teeth along with other routine care, as well as tooth removal. This is just as important, if not more important, than all of the other responsibilities you have when caring for your animal.
You want your mule’s jaw to be nice and smooth. You can place your hand on the mule’s nose and your other hand under the jaw and move them back and forth over one another. If you can hear grinding, that is a sign that your mule’s teeth need to be floated.
Removing the TMJs is also vital to their health.
In this video Steve Edwards from Queen Valley Mule Ranch will show explain steps you should take regularly to examine your mule’s dental health.
The last thing humans want is a tooth problem - same goes for your mule or donkey.
