I am fascinated by mules. Broke my arm off one 60 years ago. Always rode horses. Love the mule sense

Thank you for making this available! I’ve had horses my whole life but know nothing about mules. I am now however the owner a of two year old mule. I know I don’t know nearly enough yet but this filled in some gaps and gave me a concept of some of the differences. Much appreciated!

I am just loving this different point of view on disengaging hindquarters...one rein stop,.. needing a bricthen, dna testing on difference between Jack/ mare= mule and stallion/Jenny = Hinny. Thanks

Hi Leslie! Thanks for watching. Glad this one was helpful. We've heard that from quite a few people.

Good video... except alfalfa actually has lower non-structural carbohydrates than cool season grasses it just has more protein. So low carbs would be to feed alfalfa.

Doesn’t alfalfa have the highest fat stores?

What I like about your presentation is, that you don't seem to have the will to ridiculise or have disdain toward those who speak wrongly to a dunkey or a mule, to those who don't speak their language.

Can you use an english saddle with a mule? I ride in a dressage saddle and wanted to be sure if that would be good for one or invest into a specific mule saddle.

Great video! I love mules, really enjoyed the video. I personally have never seen a horse trainer that knows anything about training mules. Now this is just what i have experienced, not saying it can't be done. Again, really enjoyed the video!

I think I'd prefer breeching on horses as well since I never liked a crupper. Breeching just seems a million times safer given the placement.

Thanks, watched a few of your videos now, I feel like I am back at school learning something new, which is great as never to old to learn. I did notice that your advance and retreat method of training is very very similar to my own method with horses, I am not a 'horse trainer' but try hard to watch body language and understand the signals, so far so good, after ten years I have some very respectful calm animals that want to go out with me. Understanding there is a difference between mules and horses and taking it slow do you think its worth trying? there are no mule trainers near me, just plenty of misunderstood animals and owners with big sticks.

Hmmmm ... first few minutes (Ask, Tell, Demand) (Ears, Tail, Kick) are not hugely different from training a horse. As for positioning the halter, I would have liked to hear a bit more about the bone structure of the mule. There is a reason why horse trainers position the halter the way they do, namely to protect the thin nasal bone above the nostrils.

Hi there Steve I am after advice on mule size in height for packing only behind my 16hh horses which one is a gaited horse and the other a Clydesdale so I wanted your opinion on mule size in height or doesn't this matter. I have no plans on riding the mule just for packing only behind my horses which there ages are 10 years old and two year old. Thanks Darryl
