I've been on a journey now for years. From 16, I had issues with being underweight, suffered severe depression, anexity and PTSD. I was on a path to self destruction. 8 months ago, at the age of 27, something clicked in my brain. I couldn't go on living the same way. So I got myself up, no one else around me, and I pushed through. I kept going. When I felt weak, id cry, when I felt like I couldn't keep going, id remember who I was, not who I use to be. So 8 months of workout, self drive, motivation, I started feeling it. My brain was losing momentum. And here I am. And I'm ready to keep going. I can do this. I'm now 10 stone and I'm in the best shape I've ever been. You don't need no one but you. You are strong enough. We can do this.

Arnold makes a great point about progressing and improving, when he talked about the first time he won a little trophy for lifting, then, that lead to a bigger and bigger accomplishment and look where he is today. The important thing is that you have to start somewhere, even if it is a humble beginning, but you just have to start and build up from their.

11 months retained and its still a challenge, blessed to have videos like this. Im going to the gym right now ( 5 days later) I've been in the gym at least 2 hours a day, 1 rest day and retaining got my body in overdrive, cold showers right after working out and just a little soreness but not enough to stop the motivation. WE ARE ALL GONNA MAKE IT BROTHERS. (4/21/22) still no intoxication, strictly eggs and chicken and protein and gym 6 days a week. Shoot for your goals not holes🙏 5/20/22 it’s hard my brothers, I fell off a lil bit and been slacking but I realized this isn’t fun, being disciplined and strict for goals is not fun in the moment. The good feeling comes at the end of the day when you can look back and be proud of yourself for not giving in, not giving up. Short term pleasure is fun but not rewarding, long term pleasure isn’t fun but is that greatest reward of all.

"Most human beings are only living at about 40% of their potential" I was thinking about that quote and realized how incredibly generous he's being here. In reality the true number is probably somewhere between .4 and 4%. Just look at how most people spend their time, they spend hours a day on social media, Reddit, playing video games, watching bullshit on Netflix, drinking and smoking weed, watching sports, hanging out and bullshiting with friends, at the end of the week it's a miracle if they get anything done! Maybe they'll exercise every now and then, read a book or two a year, that's the average person right there. They work a day job they're not particularly fond of and they do a decent job at it, and aside from that 90% of their time is wasted on stupid bullshit did they would agree is stupid bull shit if you sat them down and talked to them about it. Warren Buffett had a great line where he said most of us go through life using up a very very small portion of our potential.

@Darkraph23 жыл бұрын
I could be wrong but I believe he meant that when we get to that 40 % potential we give up, after listening to David Goggins he opened up a part of my mental I didn't know I had, for example I was running for a while and thought I couldn't do it anymore but when I decided to forget about the pain and push through I almost doubled the time I ran. Same with a lot of other exercises, for example planks, I thought I couldn't do more than 1 min, and decided to hold and hold until you are shaking all over, I held for a 3 min, and then went for a 5 min a few weeks after, with proper position. That's how people need to train to get the maximum potential they can, pain occurs way before your body can't hold anymore so forget the pain and hold and even when it hurts hold until your body can't anymore.

At approximately 36:00, what is the name of the song that is playing in the background while Jim Rohn is talking? When Arnold was asked about the first time he won a little trophy for lifting, he used the opportunity to make an excellent point about progressing and improving. He described how that experience led to bigger and bigger accomplishments, and now look where he is today. The most important thing is to get started, regardless of how small of a beginning it may be; the point is that you have to get started somewhere and then work your way up from there.

It was one of those weeks for me, every day no motivation, would still workout but the motivation wasn’t there, felt pointless. I think this video stirred something up on me again. Thank you

Pain is the great motivator. Our minds work 24 x 7 to destroy our efforts. You'll never get rid of the negative thinking until you stop listening to it. Workout when you want to and workout when you don't. No excuses or shortcuts to achieving success. Embrace the pain!

Best feeling ever is when you feel motivated,I feel like this 2 months and I never felt like this before.Nobody can tell you to workout,it needs to come within yourself to prove something.Its like youre on a mission.

Thank you for this video. I am 14 years old and am skinny and frail. I saw this video 2 weeks ago and every day since, I have been working out. I gained a lot of muscle since then and I feel a lot more comfortable in my body. When I work out, I listen to this video because it motivates me more than anything else. Thank you.
