I second that! In my experience, Fr. Seraphim is an Orthodox priest like no other. He is a good and sincere man who, as you say, inspires. Although I am an agnostic and a humanist, what he says so often rings so true that he makes me sit up and take real notice. There are not many priests nowadays that have that effect on me.

Dear Fr. Seraphim, Thank you and bless you for nailing on where the real danger to the world is! It is the individual and collective sin of our humanity. I always meditate on these two great things about our Lord. First, He is sinless and the second: wherever He went He was doing good. We are called to follow Him and that's how we can conquer evil in the world.

The common hallmarks of those who want us to believe that "evil" is some mysterious force is that they present another group of humans to fear and hate: them, those guys, those people, that group. The Devil loves this so much. Such a great message, Father.

"You can now just go online and choose your favorite end of the world." 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Thank you for the good, healthy laugh.😂 Oh it's so true! I feel like the majority of the Orthodox KZbin videos that are offered to me as suggestion are full of nothing but utter nonsense these days. Your words did my heart good. I am full of hope for the future of our world. The gates of hell will not prevail against the Church. There will always be the faithful who are faithful. There have always been saints in every generation. Actually, I think the world is quite ripe for an explosion of Orthodoxy. I converted a year and a half ago. Seeing the change in my own heart gives me so much hope for the world, because if I can change, then nothing is impossible for God.

I'm guilty of apocalypse shopping too lol, I'd rather live one day at a time and be encouraged by sobering messages like this one instead of twiddling my thumbs waiting for the world to end. A much needed message! Fr Seraphim is right. What has to be remedied is: me first, you second, and everyone and everything else last. Individualism is the path to hell. Sin is the failure to see the presence of God in another, and acting in a way that is less than loving.
@Clodaghbob3 жыл бұрын
There is hope. Look at how many are coming together to help others to get through COVID. There _is_ an increased awareness that we need to look out for each other. Ordinary people doing little things like phoning someone who lives alone on a regular basis or being available when somebody just needs to have a volcanic rant about the misery of the world. And there are all the groups doing things to keep people's spirits up. The Swiss Police and An Garda Síochána (Irish police) danced to Jerusalema just to cheer us up! And there are all the people serenading the front line workers from apartments across Spain and Italy. The actions of these 'little' people count for something. There is hope.

As an ecologist who got really depressed and immersed in nature along with many who felt similar but were prone to conspiracy theorising, everything you say here speaks to the same truth that God made clear to me even as I was an atheist just beginning to encounter Him again for the first time since childhood (at least from my perspective). I find it affirmational and encouraging to hear it from the holiest man I know in the world. I see these conspiracied too and I dare not be so certain for fear of arrogance but I need to put aside doubt and get on with my job. We are clearly designed to be stewards and the current mess is a sign of our sin, in exactly the manner the Bible paints it. God bless you Father!

I realized I was on the correct path when a truck missed me by an inch. I watched this massive thing come upon me and all I felt was profound peace. I stood there in silent peace. I felt I was prepared to meet my God. We know not when life can be snatched... end of world or not. I agree with father, keep your godly image clean. I believe if we do, it is a humble and precious gift to Him.

Father, thankyou for another amazingly accurate and relevant message. I have given up on most of the 'Orthodox' channels on KZbin as they are so full of doom and gloom they misrepresent the gospel. You always get to the truth and focus on Love which is the point and core of the commandments everything else is commentary on that. I can see that in my study of the fathers, love always comes to the fore and everything else is practical instructions on how to express it in specific situations or how to control our tendency to do unloving things.

I wish I could give you a gold star rather than a thumbs up. You gave some profound and true wisdom regarding your our own worst enemy; ourselves. I have learned over the years that it is not God, clergy, angels, demons, or any person that will keep from knowing God as much as I can. It is myself who can prohibit me from knowing God to the fullest. True, the Deceiver and the powers of darkness work to destroy us but we alone decide if we walk in the light and how close to God we are. He is always wanting us to know him to the fullest. Edit to give you a gold star ⭐️

Fr., permit me to say. You are right and as soon I started typing you said it. End times speaking, "It's a career path". The speakers on the circuit feed the masses' appetites. It is entertaining. Fr., I have wrestled with greed and exploitation philosophically. There are checks and balances throughout the way that keeps the product, whatever is sold to standards. Albeit there are different standards depending on the price. The consumer has the right to purchase or not. You have the right to sell. "Your rights end where mine begin." Lastly, may I dare say Paul had a foundation in law. The Israelites had a foundation in law. Nevertheless, the Holy Spirit is triumphant. I love you Fr.

Ive not heard any other priest or monastic or spiritual guide teach with such passionate love and clarity at this bizarre and frightening time as Father. But Why is it such a bizarre time? What has caused all to be turned upside down so swiftly !!!? Suddenly its as if a very ugly spirit has easily entered millions of people ; millions of people spread out across the entire earth. Millions now prepared and ready to do evil. At the drop of a hat they have literally flipped. Its as if so many have just been waiting inside themselves for the green light to do sinful hurtful evil.And do it so easily. How did this happen?! In myself i must be watchful ..yes. But i was taught by parents teachers; the Orthodox church and great books of the Bible and in prayer ,what is wrong and sinful for me to do..that i must be loving and truthful and responsible for all my thoughts and actions. I thought we all knew that to one degree or another. But it seems i was and am mistaken. How do we now go off to work and do the insane thing someone who has authority tells us to do? Its Fear! Fear of death. Fear of punishment. What else could it be? Suddenly for so very many people there is now No Lord. He has for them been erased. I am so shocked. But i must watch me and cling to Hope and Love and XC. But notice how we are being made a stranger and enemy to each other.

Thank you very much dear Father for this message which goes exactly to the heart of things. The current situation being already exhausting, all these theories, sometimes shameful, continually wear us down a little more. They turn us away from God and from ourselves by finding the most obvious culprits and thereby distance us from the awareness of our greatest sin. God through the cross has already vanquished. Let's keep our eyes fixed on him. God and our brothers first. It's the program of a lifetime ... of a little lamp lit while waiting for the Fiancé.

We are a social animal. As in the design is interdependent. The only way it works is mutual respect. The only way I can find respect sometimes for the human animal is remembering how Jesus himself found us so worthy to die for. I sometimes can see the beautiful child an adult must have been at one time. I sometimes image people's glorified self. What kind of design is this with what purpose? If you have been homeless or without a family you will feel the truth of that design. It's like being a herd animal and being the weak one on the edge of group that the predator picks to kill. But I sure like to be alone in solitude.

God bless you as well Father Seraphim. Saying 'Thank you !' for these spiritual advices is too little, but still I thank you for your time taken to share these thoughts with all of us. The enemy is the evil one, but this evil one does not exist unless we, humans, are giving him ways to exist, and that is through our sinful lives. We are in the end the source of evil, through our sins. But, still, within ourselves there is as well this hidden treasure of God, given to all of us, together with our lives. That is the power to love in Christ, as only through such a love in Christ we can really be alive. If we are to really love God and love each other in Christ, what a World would be that? The Heavens will become our every day sky. What we really need to do, to show that we really love God? Christ gives us the answer too: helping the one next to us in need, shows that we love both God and the one next to us. What stays against this is 'me 1st'. How many blessings we would get from God if we are to help the one next to us in need, and what a World will be that? God bless you all !
