That's so sweet. Thank you! But now I’ve realized that I speak too slowly. The next thing I’ll work on is speeding up!😄 いっしょに、がんばりましょう〜😄

What you said about speaking Japanese uses different muscles in your mouth.. that’s 100% accurate. I do a lot of shadowing and whenever I do so, I notice my mouth/jaw getting a little sore from speaking for an extended period It’s similar to when you are working out in the gym and get sore from that.

MadDog-san, So you're now training your muscles! Wonderful!!😄

I have discovered the shadowing technique and have been trying to do it with ChatGPT voice model, but I like the way you talk about recording with your voice and reviewing it 3-6 months later as comparison. I hope I can improve with this technique, thank you 🙏

Thank you so very much for sharing your techniques with us. I have tried shadowing, but until your explanation, plus steps to take, I was getting the whole idea wrong. This led to becoming frustrated and giving up. I am starting your method this morning and look forward to seeing improvement in time, I so appreciate your very helpful videos 🙏🏼🫶

Carol Dowling-san, I’m glad my video inspired you to restart shadowing. But please don’t expect too much in a short amount of time. Language learning takes time, and even if it feels like you’re not improving, you’re making progress beneath the surface. Please don’t give up! 😄

Wow, FranKousaka-san, That's very hard ...!!😂

Since the Japanese syntax is strongly based on particles, I feel like my biggest problem as a newbie is to "glue" the particles to the words they follow... I tend a lot to "mark" strongly the particles, putting a heavy accent on them instead of the word or the whole phrase. "Gogo hachi ji NI, Shibuya DE, tomodachi TO, asobimasu". It's so hard to not seprate every piece of the phrase! 🤣 Thank you a lot for these helpful advices!

You realize your problem. That's a good start! That'll be your focus point when you shadow. Ganbatte!! 😄

I learning Japanese using Minna no Nihongo and also Irodori. And in Irodori, there are shadowing lessons in every chapter, and shadowing really improved my Japanese language skills. But, after I finished Irodori, I didn't do shadowing anymore and focused on renshuu for my exam. This video really helpful for those who want to learning about shadowing. But it seems like I can't sleep before I finished the video if I must do shadowing. Maybe, I just want to do a listening as usuals😅
@SpeakJapaneseNaturally2 күн бұрын
I guess that's because I speak too slowly... Speeding up will be the next thing I'll work on😅
@recteck2 күн бұрын
@SpeakJapaneseNaturally At first, I felt that your way of speaking was not too slow for me. But after listening to a lot of audio in Irodori and Minna no Nihongo, I feel that your speak is quite slow. However, maintaining the current speaking speed is also good, especially for beginners. And if they want to hear faster or slower, KZbin provides a playback speed feature😉

Thank you so much for your input, it is very helpful for all of us that are trying to get a grip on the japanese language. I myself am just starting out and wanted to do some shadowing to avoid building up bad habits. The only problem is that I feel like I am still missing too much vocabulary to be able to find good source material. Do you maybe have a suggestion regarding natural-sounding material that is easy (-ish) to understand? Many recordings go very slow or exaggerate their pronunciation when recording for beginners. 教えてくれてありがとう! 😊

It's been six days, have you record your voice?😄 I know the feeling, but you'll get used to it. Ganbatte!😊
こんにちはフミ先生! I love the shadowing method to learn a new language and I was thinking about a model to speak like and I chose you but your videos are too long and most of the time way beyond my level 😅 Having that said, お願いをしたいのですが😁 would it be possible to in your playlist some videos to practice shadowing?
@SpeakJapaneseNaturally2 күн бұрын
Hi, サユリさん、 I'm sorry for my late reply. Actually, you can use some easy parts from my existing videos for shadowing practice. Have you tried this app? miraa.app/ Using this app, you can easily repeat a sentence over and over again. So you can find a sentence to shadow, and practice shadowing the sentence. This video is relatively easy. kzbin.info/www/bejne/j5XQoJuPhcaGepY Combined with the app, I think you can start shadowing😊
@ヤマナ_サユリКүн бұрын
@SpeakJapaneseNaturally I logged in to the app you suggested, but I don't know how it works... Do I need to buy a subscription to use it?
Are we supposed to pause the audio or rewind for parts we are unable to repeat fluently, before continuing? Or do we do that after the end of the exercise?
@SpeakJapaneseNaturally2 күн бұрын
I'll repeat the same parts until I can say it before moving on. But if the parts are too difficult for my level right now, then I'll skip them.
Do you mean 「なされる」and 「なさる」ですか? We rarely use that kanji any more. Both なされる and なさる have the same meaning, it's a respective form of する.
