I would sand it with a 60 grit,80 grit ,100 grit right upto 2400 grit . Then put a cellouse sealer and then wax an then lacquer 😅

I think if one makes a craft from rubble, throw away stuff its a good art, but if buy good stuff to make a art, thats just art, now the person who made coconut plant 100 out of 100/ thd person who made that bin, and draw set etc, thats art, she created something out of nothing, all and all it was good.

Is it a bowl, so all those school children go without coloured pencils for a stupid bowl, yes it looks like a bowl but the lathe did all the work and the kids are twiddling their thumbs at school, no coloured pencils, boring.....
