This is super useful. It's a really nice alternative for when making components of everything is overkill and you want to multi-adjust just certain things you select.

When it comes to 800 pages I believe it is much better to use components, because without them maybe even multi-edit will not help in case of the change 😅

it would be nice to have a multi-editing json injection specialized in bulk editing, so white label products could benefit from this, like defining variables, logo image, text and etc, then put it into a json and run, so it can replace each by each (the same art/template but with different colors, logos and titles)

Great update and video! I recreated this example to train, but when I try to click on "select matching layers" I get the message "no matching layers select on page". But selecting the individual rectangles, the multi edit works. Named the shapes "Rectangles" aswell and have them under different frames. Any idea what I do wrong?

@BraceZenith
@BraceZenith 4 ай бұрын
Also "matching layers" doesn't work when trying to select objects which belong to the same ancestor frame. In other words, if you have a frame representing an app screen or a web page (which is how everyone is doing it), and you try to select all the matching elements on in, it will tell you there are no matching elements. This means that this feature is useful for stuff like selection between different frames (especially helpful for editing master components), but when it comes to editing full "screens" or "pages", or in other words frames, it's quite non-existent.
@nagpurcar
@nagpurcar 4 ай бұрын
@@BraceZenith You could have said parent frame, why did you have to involve ancestors bro 😂
@BraceZenith
@BraceZenith 4 ай бұрын
@@nagpurcarI wanted to be precise, because "parent" and "ancestor" isn't same thing, and in this case, it's important to make this distinction. A "parent" frame would mean an immediate ancestor, or in other words, a frame which is directly holding the layer we are trying to match/multi-select. An "ancestor" can be any frame within the layer structure, as long as it is holding either the layer we are trying to match, or some other frame, which is in turn holding that layer we are trying to match/multi-select. An example: ancestor / ancestor / ancestor / parent (also an ancestor) / layer Like your grandma and grandpa are your ancestor but are not your parents. While on the other hand, your parents ARE your ancestors AND your parents.
