Fabulous. ..people are thankful for this blessed invention, tks a lot. Is it already working in any country?

This method is being piloted for wider implementation by MEDAD (www.medad-tech.com), a KAUST-supported startup company. For more details, see discovery.kaust.edu.sa/en/article/201/Partnering-for-sustainable-freshwater-production

Isn't it possible using the high temperature from the desert to warm up the water to get the sweet water? ...if it was possible to transfer the sea water to the desert and use the natural high temperature from the desert to heating the water. ..sorry, it is just a very poor though and poor idea. ....simple to much. ...

@ 2:04, Couldn't the "pipes" be designed to function more as a large, flat heat sink. Then allow the salts and other minerals to build up on that flat surface, and then periodically scrape off the surface and collect the minerals? That would also allow a higher input temperature, right?

What is the GOR of this process, how many kg of water per kg of steam? Are there actual machines using this method?

What happens with the Dissolved Solids (salts) as they drop out of solution, also does the salt become part of the adsorbing gel and how is that removed.
@AlMoxtar4 жыл бұрын
As far as I understand: 1- All desalination processes produce brine. It is unavoidable. The disposal of it is an environmental problem. 2- The gel absorbs additional water vapor at the end of the process. It is not supposed to be in contact with salt at all.

Or you could pretreat the water before MED?

Except if the swamp is Magick and lower the energy use for the water heating and ewaporation in the end stage you will not save energy. Instead pump more water from the ocian and let it cool the end stage and let it run out in the ocian again thining the brime. 2 problems solved
