Sir, you are a genius.. I have never seen these Fresnel lens in use in any sim.. And I have been into simming for some 20 years.. Great work.

One of the best explanation (overall) on the web; the product is also together with the explanation. Very professional sir. I'm envious but in a good way.

Let me add my kudos to the many you've already received. As amazed as I am by the thoroughness of the build, your ability to present a lot of complexity and detail is superb. Happy flights!

OK, I commented before I got to the end and saw your motion system. You, my friend, are a flight sim GOD! Absolutely amazing, amazing, amazing! So compact, small and immersive! I cannot believe what you have built. Some day, when I have time, money and space, I want something like this for my sim. Heck, not even that complex, but you have set the bar. Great job, I am truly impressed.

Basically, any multi-monitor video card can be used, as long as the system also allows additional video card for the panel views.
@masterploxis14 жыл бұрын
Hello Rolandvanroy, you video is truly well made. As you know many of the cockpit builders have questions about the details and in your video everything is explained very clear. Thank you for that. Nice flying with your setup. Regards from Germany from Andy....

Great, Roland! What I like most (while EVERYTHING is excellent!) is your clear brief explanations. No "soooo... well ... aaaand ..." Professionel! I guess I'll try to say hello at Lelysted in November... Peter (German 737NG builder, anyway)

It's because my self-build cockpit does not include windows or glare shield. Also the cockpit view over the hood of the engine with prop gives much nicer view, and when panning left, you can see the left wing. I have adopted the cockpit view position so most of the dials are out of view.

@Aphradonis : Sorry, I have not seen these big size lenses. You could check "TV magnifier" types, but they normally have coarse grooves, and this reduces screen quality.
@Rolandvanroy14 жыл бұрын
@przhevsky :Fresnel lens: €22,- each 17" LCD: €50,- each (ebay) 15" LCD: €40,- each (ebay) Matrox TH2Go: €125,- (ebay) PC & video cards: €250,- (ebay) MJOY-16 interface card: €20,- each (self build) switches, levers, rotaries: €60,- wood, metal etc: €50,- Yoke: €50,- self made so total display setup cost: around €910,- includig PC

@Rolandvanroy12 жыл бұрын
I did not try, but I don't see any reason why it should not work. You have to configure the second video card have both outputs active, and then span the desktop over all monitors.

Purhaps you could help me? I have search and asked about a solution for the instruments in my home built cocpit, with no solutions. I would really like to try to use FS panel studio, but no one can explain how it Works on Win7. Maybe there are other programs but i dont know them then. This is my only problem to finish my cockpit, and also i would like to ask you for which projector would be good enough to use as a front monitir today?

If i ever come across the money, I would build something very similar... In fact, just about identical. The only difference is i would make the buttons functional by wiring them up to a board that sits in the wooden casing, and make it attachable by USB. The monitors themselves would be hooked up to one of the graphics cards. Those would be where it would get expensive. But i think the entire thing, computer and all, could be built for US$5,000-$6,000.

Hi, Is it possible to connect 2 monitors on the second video card?. Now I have one Video card connect to triple 2 go digital but I use only 2 video out from triple head 2 go. I plan to buy second video card (Cheap one) and install it on the same computer to connect 2 lcd display for display panel.

Yes, 3D Lens does not seem to sell F550 anymore. You could check bhlens dot com : Their BHPA550-15 seems close to the original F550 from 3D lens. I have not dealt with BHLens, please let me know how it goes.

@ledfed19129 жыл бұрын
Ermias Zemichael No lol those monitors are shit, The fresnel lens is a cool idea but can be replaced by 27- 32 inch monitors. I have zero envy for someone why uses 10 year old 15 inch monitors in a tripple screen configuration with fresnel lenses just blassting up that low resolution up to a giant size. Plus if the lenss are not perfectly parallel you are going to get blur on parts of the screen.
@ledfed19129 жыл бұрын

Its not about screen size, anyone can do that, its about depth cues and colliminated rays which regular LCDs (no matter the size) would be able to do.
