Great father daughter outing. Congratulations, hopefully it took some of the sting off of the high entrance fee at the Santa Ana River ponds. Try Irvine Lake when the water recedes a bit. The fish are twice the size, and the price total to fish there is only FIVE DOLLARS ; and no fishing license is required ever. Oh yes before I forget, Irvine Lake is a REAL lake and not a garbage filled mud pond. Thanks for posting.

Thanks brother! Yup nothing like that family time on the water! Yeah it’s painful getting a skunk out at SARL. Still better than any day at the office. Lol. I definitely want to head out to Irvine Lake. Haven’t been out there in ages.

Lol! Fishing Santa Ana River Lakes can be rough at times. I've definitely made my "donation" to that lake several times.

The lite line was probably allowing the crawler to stay above the weeds. That’s why I inflate the crawlers for trout and tilapia and works for cats . Good job 👏

Ayyyeeee! Yeah man! It was good fishing with you. Still working on that video. Turned a slow day into a fun day. haha. I used 1/0 Lightwire Circle Hooks when I am cat fishing. Seems to be the perfect size and even worked for some tilapia in this video.

How much to get in the lake? What months is best to catch fish? Is this a private lake? Cool vid👍

Hey great video. Good catches! You had lots of action. I am going to go for my first time and I wanted to see if there are any tips to catch tilapia or catfish. Like the types of baits to use and stuff.
@pokedad.fishes2 жыл бұрын
Fabio brother thank you. If you want the possibility of tilapia and catfish, nightcrawlers would be your best bet. I was using garlic flavored marshmallows and nightcrawlers. The marshmallow for the scent and to float the night crawler. Fishing has been a little harder lately with all the algae growing around.

How do they charge? Just the entrance fee or plus each fish you catch?
@pokedad.fishes2 жыл бұрын
They charge at the entrance. Entrance has a 5 fish limit. 🤙🏼

Been out there and have been skunked 4 times hurts even more because it cost a lot to get in lol. What part of the lake is that ? Going to need to give it another shot just seen the other video and need to see if i can atleast land one !
