thoughts on KVMs: I like having HID and display switching separately, especially if the goal is to have a single mouse and keyboard, to achieve this: - For HID either a USB switch with a hotkey (I have the Terived one, wireless mice are a bit slow to reconnect) or a software solution like synergy or barrier. - For displays, if you want extra hardware and flexibility, get an HDMI matrix, like that all the displays don't have to go to the same machine or use keyboard shortcuts for DDC.

Forget KVM. I suggest using MX Mechanical or MX Keys. You can switch between devices with keys or use MX series mouse with flow feature to automatically switch.

Посмотри видео от создателя, он там рассказывает чем плохи kvm от других производителей. Мне нравится что у него есть kvm на 4 компа и 2 монитора. Это как раз то что тебе нужно!

Level1Tech KVMs are the best from what I’ve heard. Pricey, yes, but fully custom built with quality components.

I used to use 27x2 4k monitors to connect them with Macbook. Then I find myself to over heading my time. To do so, you should have ThunderBolt or similar connectivity Displays. Those are not a. budget displays. These are also not portable. Then you should start turning head right left way more, trying to find windows and folders. If you do not go out of the main display, it is ok, but multitasking is not going to work so good. Especially due to fact that screen of laptop is smaller than other 2 Monitors. So your eyes are going to struggle. Better close the lid of laptop, and use monitors only. Even this way, is not going to be as good, because the more space, harder to find folders, change active zone etc. 1 Big screen, is better than 2 smaller. I have tried it with Windows, with Mac, with Linux. Unless you really need to many terminals open, to many monitoring staff like SIEM, Admin panels, your focus mostly will be on 1 monitor. For laptop and portability, It will be better to have something like Limink 2x Monitor externder. The reason is, we used to books, notepads, closer staff to us. IMHO. Good luck.

Ugreen has some nice KVM switches. They're decently priced too. I got one of their Display Port KVMs simply because it was cheap but when I got it, I was pleasantly surprised at the quality. I also have HDMI switches and cables from them. They also do channels sponsorships, FYI.

for KVM, I’ve only used Synergy software for mac and pc but I’m also interested in a hardware solution. Nowadays, I don’t use Synergy… I’m just using a mac RDP client to connect to my PCs, which is pretty lousy for pc productivity. So, I’m interested to hear what’s out there!

Alex another great video. I use the Logitech - MX Mechanical Mini Compact Wireless Mechanical Tactile Switch Keyboard for Windows/macOS with Backlit Keys - Graphite. I chose the red switches. I also use the MX Master 3S Mouse. I like they can switch between 3 different devices. I appreciate your channel since I learn so much from you. Thanks

Looking at the mini PC you have, I've got a Geekom IT13 w/ 13th gen i7 H chip and 32GB RAM and ironically I do more paid work from that than I do from my M3 Pro MBP w/ 36GB RAM these days. My Mini PC would definitely have been an M4 Mac Mini if I didn't already have the mini PC (paired with a Surface Pro or Surface Laptop and an iPad Pro). The base level M4 Mac Mini feels like a no brainer now compared to the Mini PC options - Mine with 1TB + 32GB RAM probably cost as much as the M4 Mac Mini 256GB/16GB but likely performs worse

Hi Alex! As a Macbook Pro user like me and doing some code work, do you think that having a 4K monitor in a desk setup like in this video is absolutely worth the price? I am using 1440p and considering to upgrade to a 4K monitor on this Thanksgiving deal.. everyone seems to say it would make a huge difference.

Hi Alex! Can I get an information if your suggested display link dock(LK10 DisplayLink) works for m4 pro macbook pro? I've bought one from Minisopuru but it turned out to be a virus infected so need to find something that will work fine without possible viruses. Also a question that relates to it, is it possible to use the DisplayLink along with the standard(built-in) hdmi port? Thanks in advance!

Sorry but you can't seriously claim that it's the same for you listening music on the MacBook than on a pair of KRKs. If you like listening music, you need proper monitors / speakers. If the MacBook is enough for you, sorry but I can't consider you a music / sound lover. ;-)
