In this video you will see me install a multi zone ductless mini split system. It will have 3 zones, one in the living room and one in each of two bedrooms. Condenser will be on the side of the house. Galvanized sheet metal covers for the line sets. I run the electrical myself and installed a plug next to condenser for servicing it in the future. Fan coils were mounted high on the wall. Condenser was secured to the wall with metal straps. Condenser is on a condenser pad with gravel underneath to help with drainage.
Thank you for watching!!
We service the area between 5, 210 and 605 FWY here in Southern California. As of right now we only service residential homes and not commercial. Please feel free to contact us with any questions regarding this video.

What a pleasure to watch a true craftsman do his thing! I don't think most people know that installing a four or five head unit mini split system is far far cheaper than installing/replacing a ducted HVAC system in a house. And the high efficiency and high SEER rating on these units costs a fraction in power bills compared to a whole house ducted unit. It is not uncommon for a whole house ducted system to leak 30 to 40 percent of all of the cool air or hot air out of the seams and holes in the ducts before it ever has a chance to get to any rooms to do its job. I'm really surprised that mini splits are not mandatory on all new houses in this day and age of people going crazy over environmental stuff.

Nice work! I'm getting ready to have a contractor install a 62,000 BTU 6 Zone ductless Mini Split electric Heat Pump system in my 1374 Square Feet home. the units are 2 x 7K, 1 x 9K, 2 x 12K and 1 x 15K. I know that I need at least 2 x 3 port Brach Boxes or 1 x 6 Port Branch Box but I'm not sure how many Y-Joint connectors that I'll need for 6 zones. (Logic tells me that I'd need at least 6) I'm asking because my Contractor informed me that he he orders the parts, his company will stack on a 15 - 18% markup on the cost of the equipment (which will put me over my budget). If I buy all the needed equipment, I'll only need to worry about covering his Hourly rate for what he says will be a two day job. Trying to get the Job done for 15K or less.

I am thinking which would be better - 1 each 18K single unit mounted up about 8' on an outside wall about offset from by 8 feet to one side OR dual zone 2 inside 9K and 9K center offset evenly. It would look aesthetically better using the 2ea. 9K. inside units. I would prefer to do the 2 inside units. What do you think?

Got a rough quote from another company that has their own in house mini split for between $2100-2500 assuming no electrician is needed. Wanted one with a few more features like wireless connectivity so I can turn it on before getting home from work.
@Stew_Pid
@Stew_Pid 2 жыл бұрын
@@theairconditioningguy that quote was also for their 12000 unit which he recommended just for the sake of pushing more air from what I gathered. Given that I budgeted $4k and they came back with that price I'm not gonna argue. Again, just wanted one with more features for my particular use case.
