I think because there was enough momentum in the wheel between the motor and dynamo due to which the dynamo was spinning at the same speed and notice how he immediately plugs the motor in so that it's spinning doesn't stop if you think it like that then there was enough momentum in the wheel to spin the dynamo and due to that there was enough power for the light bulb to shine if he didn't plug the motor immediately then probably we could've seen the light dimming out and the motor not spinning when he plugs the motor into the other plug. I don't know If that is correct but I'm just guessing let me know if I'm wrong

M.k Yadav the wobble in the belts and heat from the motors/friction would cause a loss of energy or destroy the energy over time wouldn’t it? Sure it might work for a short time. But doesn’t the first law also state it has to be continual? Lasting forever? I’m not a scientist but it seems it still would violate the first law.
@jamessowin25054 жыл бұрын
@@cornxx3 you mean it violates the second law of thermodynamics. And yes it does. There is no such thing as "free" energy. Energy always comes from somewhere else. And in the process of converting or transmitting that energy to do work there will always be losses involved. This is due to entropy. The only two processes in the universe that does not increase entropy is flow in a superfluid or current flow in a superconductor. Both have no change in entropy. Both work by exploiting quantum mechanical effects where two particles behave as one. And by doing so they make the particles able to exist in the same quantum mechanical states as other particles. Something that before, they would be unable to do because they were fermions when they were separated particles and this had to obey the Pauli exclusion principle. By combining the two particles ich changes their quantum spin, which makes them act as a single boson. This allow them to get around the Pauli exclusion principle and move around without increasing entropy. You can also learn more by looking up superfluid, superconductor, and Bose-Einstein condensate, on Wikipedia and also on KZbin. If you want to go further down the rabbit hole of cool quantum mechanical effects also look up "wave particle duality explained", "double slit experiment explained", "Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle explained" on KZbin. So they did it on dirt so they could bury the power cable. I would like to see that set up on concrete. Make me a believer!!
@ezavada4 жыл бұрын
They aren't using a power cable. That flywheel has a huge amount of mass and is moving very fast, so it stores kinetic energy from when they had the motor plugged in to the external power source. You can see that spin rate of the flywheel drops noticeably when they run the saw from it. There are parasitic power loses throughout that system, so they actually used more energy than if they'd just plugged the saw and the lights directly into the power source.

Every kid, including me when I was young, who fools around with electricity eventually gets the idea of hooking up a generator to a motor, creating perpetual motion. The only problem with this idea is that it violates the laws of thermodynamics. Considering the contraption in the video, eventually the flywheel will run down because of friction in the bearings, not to mention the use of energy to light the light bulb. There is nothing wrong with doing experiments, but burn this into your mind, and never forget it: **THERE S NO SUCH THING AS FREE ENERGY.**

Nope. The closed system demands that would violate the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics: you cannot perform further work from the increase of disorder represented by energy lost through heat. Consider the rise in temperature of a coin dropped from a height upon hitting the ground: after it has cooled if one reheated that coin to the same temperature, it will not leap up to the height from which it was dropped. The motions within its constituent molecules are RANDOM or DISORDERED, preventing their collective ensemble in the form of the coin from moving in any particular direction. It would just sit there on the ground as a warmer coin. This principle - that disorder always increases - is known as entropy. Look it up and learn.

Seems like they plug the electric motor to a power source, then it turns the generator, when the generator reaches an RPM that it can provide power they unplug the motor and plug it in the supply coming from the generator, now the electric motor is the one turning the generator and the generator supplies it with electricity it needs. The flywheel is the one that maintains the the momentum by inertia. And the excess power from the generator is the one they use to light up the bulbs, if it only has the battery to store the power its good.

There is no violation of any laws of physics here. They just combined all sources of energy to convert it into electric power. As we noticed he plug in the motor to make it run then he pushed the flywheel to boost the rotation and when the generator generates enough power to run a motor he transfer the power source of motor to the generator. It goes like this: 1+1+1+1=4, 4-1=3, 3-1=2 Where ; 1=generator,motor,flywheel and external force. 4= energy pruduced 1= motor(energy consumer) 3= energy left 1=energy lost 2= final energy left. Let us not judge how a thing is done if we cannot even fix a busted light,motor,heater,aircon in our home.

So if you get a bearing (like the ones housed in the generator/motor/ flywheel and spin it, how long does it spin for? is it days? or a second or two? the answer is a second or two because there is still friction. Adding all these frictions together, plus the losses in the cables, windings, windage, conversion from stator to rotor, and rotor to stator you end up with a system that's 60% efficient. so no mater how much power you put in, it will always slow down and stop.

For those how love mathematics. Here's a a mathematical equation. How fast does a 12v alternator spin to generate max about of wattage? If a vehicle Idles between 560-770 rpms. The alternator generates between 560-770 watts. So the faster a alternator spines, determines how much watts is produced. Or it doesn't make more wattage because it only produces 13v-14v on a 12v alternator. If max rpms for a 12v alternator is between 560-770 rpms. You produce 1 watt of electricity for 1 rpm. A electric motor would have to spin at max, between 560-770 rpms to generate max wattage on a single alternator. Which, would cancel each other out. But what if you ran two alternators off the same electric motor and both alternators spin at the same rate of rpms. Do you double the amount of wattage being produced then your using to run the electric motor. To spin two alternators at the same rate of rpms?
