Believe it or not, I've been furiously working on this video throughout the entire month of January. I worked really hard to try new ideas and create a cohesive narrative across different forms of media. I enjoyed it so much that I can't wait to make my next multifandom video! There's not much else to say, because I've been living and breathing this project for a month straight. I just hope you all like it, and hold me accountable for monthly uploads again LOL. I honestly only recognized maybe 3 of the shows in this vid (that I haven't even watched fully through) and this is still one of the most captivating, moving, artfully done videos I've ever seen. The way you built this single, cohesive narrative with bits and pieces pulled from so many different sources is incredibly telling of your talent. I love the story you tell here, the moments you focus on, the lines you purposely choose to repeat. You know how to make a message resonate. oh how i’ve missed the xxbcu. (disclaimer; i’m not just writing all this for the sake of making a long comment, your work genuinely leaves me with so much to say that this is what i gotsta do) so let’s start off with the song before i get emotional and go off on other things. i can’t believe how perfectly it fits with the entire piece. i don’t know how you do it, but you always pick melodies that will immediately set the tone for the video, and match the progression until the end. the way it continued to get louder and bigger and more hold-your-breath-beautiful showed the transition from the heroes’ feeling of hopelessness to their urge to keep fighting right up to their relationship with the end. it’s like the song was always meant to be, like it was written for this purpose, and that’s something unique you manage to accomplish quite a lot and makes these videos unquestionably yours. now for the body of this essay ansmdksk the beginning of this video isn’t the start of a hero’s journey, it instead starts with grief and damage, and that was just very powerful of you. then they’re all reminded of who exactly they are, before the reality that what they do won’t fix the mistakes that happened in the past. the expectations laying on them that hinder their ability to just stop, that pushes them to keep going even when it hurts, and that shows the sacrifice needed to be this grand hero, even when they don’t want to be. the gravity of being a hero is also shown really really well, and it reflects how much these characters hurt and suffer themselves. i don’t watch a few of the shows you’ve included, but you still made me feel a connection to their characters even though i don’t know who they are. in such a short time you managed to give everyone included in this depth and meaning, and there’s almost a universal bond established among them all as you make the links between their stories and personalities, which is a sign of an excellent multifandom vid if you ask me (nobody did but ima say it anyway). and then the final segment, all about death and loss, it just hits different really. these people’s legacies and lives in the end, or at least when faced with the end in some form, whew boy that’s some chef’s kiss behaviour right there. (also let me mention that at 4.26 i started uncontrollably crying cause i thought it was over and there was a gasp and everything and then the video came back and i was like ( ；∀；) ) that feeling of trying so gd hard, the desperation of it, you portrayed it so well in this and just lots of kudos for it because oh my god i’m distraught. the selflessness of it all orz i love looking at this in contrast to your first multifandom video, because they’re both polar opposites of each other and are so brilliantly different that it just shows your ability to make things that don’t feel the same. bad gyal focused on that darker part of a person and giving into that part of you, and a hero’s sacrifice deals with hope born from pain. every video is always new and fresh as you start to expand your work and that’s just so cool. your use of quotes and overlapping them and making them fit the narrative is so outstanding, the plots you create give me chills. like????? HELLO?????? "but we can keep others alive”, "nous protégeons ceux qui ne peuvent pas”, "nous protégeons ceux qui ne peuvent pas se protéger leur-mêmes", "we can defend those who can't defend themselves,” ?????????? ik you quoted this bit on twitter already but seeing it for myself? good binch i am bald, you’ve balded me i hope you’re happy. i also loved “do you think a truly good act at the end of your life will make up for the terrible things you’ve done?” “i suppose anything’s possible”. your MIND the fact that the last line in this was “it’s okay”, “you can rest now” just made me cry. the way the music slowly calmed down and returned to quiet only further made it feel like the pulse of the video, keeping it alive and beating until the end. it was a mETAPHOR THE WHOLE TIME- you’re a really good editor nina and it’s so cool to watch you continuously improve and learn from each new video you make. you keep moving forward and growing, and ik this month was really stressful with your hard drive biting the dust (rip nina’s hard drive 2020) but you still worked so hard to release this and you succeeded!! and it was fantastic!! you should be so proud of what you manage to accomplish, always, cause eye (neenwolf stan no. 1) really am. this was just so superb and emotional and beautiful, the tone was on point and it never lost itself along the way. a whole work of art
