Happy Father's Day! It's little surprise that I'm posting something as I've made it clear that my fave tropes in tv/film are surrogate father/daughter relationships (*looking at you Buffy/Giles, Coulson/Daisy, El/Hopper!*). So, I decided to mark the day with a tribute to some of the lovely relationships between fathers and daughters on tv shows/films I like. Hearing Lindsay Lohan say those words in the beginning makes it a little more heartbreaking.Some parents just don't get how much they hurt their kids when they are not doing their job.Part of the reason I love surrogate relationships because family can be a chosen one and it doesn't have to start with blood. I am currently a freshman in high school and my father left me before I was even born. I have talked to him on the phone before, but he has the ability to see me and he never does. It doesn't bother me, shoot I even make jokes about it. Actually, let me say that again it doesn't bother me until I hear what it Lohan said at the beginning of the video. It makes me a little jealous how people can have both a father and a mother that is happily married, while I only have a mother and a father who doesn't even dare to come see his child once.
